1998 Tour De Langkawi
The 1998 Tour de Langkawi was the third edition of the Tour de Langkawi, a cycling stage race that took place in Malaysia. It started on 18 February in Langkawi and ended on 1 March in Kuala Lumpur. The race was sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) as a 2.5 category race. Italian Gabriele Missaglia won the race, Giuliano Figueras second and Niklas Axelsson third. Fred Rodriguez also won the points classification and Douglas Ryder won the mountains classification of the race. won the team classification of the race. Alessandro Petacchi
Alessandro Petacchi (born 3 January 1974) is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 1996 and 2015. A specialist sprinter, Petacchi has won 48 grand tour stages with wins of the points jersey in the Giro d'Italia in 2004, the Vuelta a España in 2005 and the Tour de France in 2010. He also won the classics Milan – San Remo in 2005 and Paris-Tours in 2007. His career spanned over 18 years during which he earned 183 victories. In 2007, Petacchi was banned from cycling and had his results achieved disqualified for doping. Kuantan ( Jawi: ) is a city and the state capital of Pahang, Malaysia. It is located near the mouth of the Kuantan River. Søren Peter Petersen (December 6, 1894 – 1945) was a Danish heavyweight professional boxer who competed in the 1920s and 1930s. He was born in Kolding and died in Belgium.
