1997 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 6th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics were held at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France from March 7 to March 9, 1997. It was the first athletic championships to introduce women's pole vault. There were a total number of 712 participating athletes from 118 countries. Marco Vaccari
Marco Vaccari (born 17 July 1966 in Milan) is a retired Italian sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres. Career Vaccari won seven medals in international athletics competitions, six of these with national relays team. His personal best time is 45.47 seconds, achieved in June 1992 in Bologna. Vadim Zadoynov
Vadim Zadoynov (russian: Вадим Задойнов, born 24 May 1969) is a Moldovan athlete who specialized in the 400 metres hurdles. Zadoynov was born in Chişinău. He won the bronze medal for the Soviet Union at the 1988 World Junior Championships. At the 1990 European Championships he finished fourth in the 400 m hurdles and eighth in the 4 × 400 m relay. At the 1992 Olympic Games he was knocked out in the heats. Zadoynov also competed at the World Championships in 1993, 1995, 1997 and 1999, and only reached the semi-final once; in 1997.
