The Copa del Rey de Baloncesto (English: '' King's Cup of Basketball'') is an annual cup competition for Spanish basketball teams organized by Spain's top professional league, the Liga ACB. History Originally known as the ''Copa de España de Baloncesto'', was first played in 1933 and contested in its first editions only by teams from the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona. It was the first nationwide basketball competition played in Spain. Tanoka Dwight Beard (born September 29, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. During his career, he was able to play both the power forward and center positions. He earned an All-EuroLeague Second Team selection in 2005, while leading the competition in rebounds, with an average of 10.6 per game. Performance Index Rating (PIR) is a basketball mathematical statistical formula that is used by the Euroleague Basketball Company's first and second tier competitions, the EuroLeague and the EuroCup, as well as various European national domestic and regional leagues. It is a part of the Tendex basketball rating system. It is also variously referred to as Performance Index Ranking, Rating, Ranking, Evaluation, Valuation, and Efficiency. It is similar to, but not exactly the same as, the NBA's Efficiency (EFF) stat. He played at Wilson High School in his native Florence, South Carolina, and played college basketball at UConn, where he was an all-conference performer in his senior year in 1992. The Asociación de Clubes Españoles de Baloncesto (Spanish Basketball Clubs Association), more commonly known as the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), is a national sports association responsible for administering the main professional basketball league in Spain - the Liga Endesa. The organisation was founded in 1982. Competition The 18 member clubs of the ACB are grouped into the Liga Endesa. In any given season a club plays each of the others in the same division twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents.
