1996 Segunda División B Play-offs
The 1996 Segunda División B play-offs (Playoffs de Ascenso or Promoción de Ascenso) were the final playoffs for promotion from 1995–96 Segunda División B to the 1996–97 Segunda División. The four first placed teams in each of the four Segunda División B groups played the ''Playoffs de Ascenso'' and the four last placed teams in Segunda División were relegated to Segunda División B. The teams play a league of four teams, divided into 4 groups. The champion of each group is promoted to Segunda División. CD Orense
Club Deportivo Ourense, S.A.D. was a Spanish football team based in Ourense, in the autonomous community of Galicia. Founded in 1952 after the dissolution of old UD Orensana, it played in Segunda División B – Group 1, holding home games at ''Estadio O Couto'', which has a capacity of 5,625 spectators. In 1967-68, the team completed an entire regular league season without drawing or losing a single game. Ourense won 30 out of 30 league games, but lost out to Elche CF Ilicitano in the promotion play-offs. The club was dissolved on 15 July 2014. Segunda División B Play-offs
The Segunda División B promotion play-offs are a series of playoff matches contested by the teams finishing from 1st to 4th in each Segunda División B group. Sixteen teams play to take four promotion places. Barakaldo CF has been in the Segunda División B promotion play-offs a record nine times: 1993-1994, 1997–2000, 2002–2003 and 2008, but never won promotion. Otherwise Racing de Ferrol, FC Barcelona B, Getafe CF and Real Murcia won promotion a record three times. Teams from group 1 (usually from west) and group 4 (usually from south) won promotion twenty five times each. Club Atlético Osasuna B, usually known as Osasuna Promesas is the reserve team of CA Osasuna, a Spanish football club based in Pamplona, in the autonomous community of Navarre.
