The 1996 Polish Speedway season was the 1996 season of motorcycle speedway in Poland. Individual Polish Individual Speedway Championship The 1996 Individual Speedway Polish Championship final was held on 15 August at Warsaw. Sławomir Drabik won the Polish title for the second time and five years after his first triumph in 1991 Polish speedway season, 1991. Golden Helmet (Poland), Golden Helmet The 1996 Golden Golden Helmet ( pl, Turniej o Złoty Kask, ZK) organised by the Polski Związek Motorowy, Polish Motor Union (PZM) was the 1996 event for the league's leading riders. The final was held at Wrocław on the 27 September. Jacek Gollob won the Golden Helmet title and defeated his brother Tomasz Gollob in a final run off after they both finished on 14 points. Włókniarz Częstochowa
Eltrox CKM Włókniarz Częstochowa is a motorcycle speedway team based in Częstochowa, Poland. They were established in 1946. They compete in the Speedway Ekstraliga, Polish Ekstraliga. The club has won Team Speedway Polish Championship, Polish Speedway League 4 times (lately in 2003) and European Speedway Club Champions' Cup, European Club Cup 1 time in 2004 European Speedway Club Champions' Cup, 2004. The team's home track is at the Municipal Stadium "Częstochowa Arena", which has a capacity of over 16,850 people. Jacek Rempała
Jacek Rempała (born 16 February 1971) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. Career Rempała represented Poland during the 1991 Speedway World Team Cup. He rode in Poland for 27 years and spent much of it with Unia Tarnów. He won the 1991 Silver Helmet and the 1993 Bronze Helmet. He first rode in Britain when he signed for the Ipswich Witches for the 1992 British League season. He did not return to Britain again until 2006, when he joined the Berwick Bandits The Berwick Bandits are a British speedway club, based in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Damian Baliński (born 5 August 1977, in Poland) is an international motorcycle speedway rider and a current member of Poland national team. He has ridden since 1994 with Unia Leszno. Piotr Protasiewicz (born 25 January 1975 in Zielona Góra, Poland) is a Polish international speedway rider. Career He has ridden for the Polish national team in the Speedway World Cup in 1996 and 2005. He was also World U-21 Champion in 1996. In October 1997, during the Speedway Grand Prix Qualification he won the GP Challenge, which ensured that he claimed a permanent slot for the 1998 Grand Prix. The Polski Związek Motorowy (PZM, PZMot) ( en, Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation) is an automobile club and the governing body of motorsports in Poland. It is based in Warsaw. Established in 1950 by merging the Polish Car Club and the Polish Motorcycle Association. Andrzej Huszcza
Andrzej Huszcza (born 10 March 1957 in Krępa, Poland) is a Polish former international motorcycle speedway rider who was a reserve (did not ride) in the 1988 World Final in Vojens, Denmark. Huszcza rode for Falubaz Zielona Góra for thirty years from 1975 until 2005. He then spent two seasons with PSŻ Poznań before finally retiring aged fifty. Huszcza spent two seasons in the UK riding for the Hackney Hawks, Reading Racers and the Leicester Lions in the British League. In 2008, he returned to ZKŻ Zielona Góra as coach. Piotr Świst (born June 20, 1968 in Poland) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. His surname "Świst" means 'whizz' in Polish. Career Świst spent his first 13 seasons in Poland with Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski from 1985 through to 1997. In that time he won a silver medal in the 1987 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship and three Polish U-21 Championships in 1987, 1988 and 1989. Additionally he won the Golden Helmet in 2008 and the Polish Pairs Championship in 1992. On three occasions he reached the podium of the Polish Individual Speedway Championship (1993, 1995 and 2002). Robert Sawina (born 27 May 1971) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. Career Baron represented Poland during the 1992 Speedway World Team Cup. He also reached the 1992 Speedway Under-21 World Championship final.
