The 1996 NFL season, 1996 season was the Buffalo Bills' 27th in the National Football League (NFL), their 37th overall (all of those under the ownership of Ralph Wilson) and their 10th full season under List of Buffalo Bills head coaches, head coach Marv Levy. It was also the final season for long-time Bills quarterback Jim Kelly. The team matched their 1995 Buffalo Bills season, previous season's record of 10–6 and qualified for the playoffs, for the second consecutive season and eighth time in nine seasons. Mike Hollis
Michael Shane Hollis (born May 22, 1972) is most recently an American football placekicker for the Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League. He formerly played in the National Football League from 1994-2003, leading the NFL in scoring (1997 season) and becoming the Most Accurate Kicker in NFL History during that time. He signed with the Sharks in 2022 after almost 20 years of retirement. He spent most of his nine-year NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, kicking for the team from and setting several team records. The Rams were led by third-year head coach Sonny Lubick and played their home games at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. The 1995 LSU Tigers football team represented Louisiana State University in the sport of American football for the 1995 NCAA Division I-A football season. Coached by Gerry DiNardo in his first season at LSU, the Tigers played their home games at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The team won seven games, lost four, and had one tie. It concluded the season with a 45–26 win over Michigan State in the 1995 Independence Bowl. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played.
