The 1995 Seattle Seahawks season was the franchise's 20th season in the National Football League (NFL), the 20th playing their home games at the Kingdome and the first under head coach head coach Dennis Erickson. The American Football Conference – Western Division or AFC West is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division comprises the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. The division has sent teams to the Super Bowl eighteen times beginning with Super Bowl I when the Chiefs played the Green Bay Packers. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Dave Brown (cornerback)
David Steven Brown (January 16, 1953 – January 10, 2006) was an American football player and coach. Brown played 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) at the cornerback position for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1975), Seattle Seahawks (1976–1986), and Green Bay Packers (1987– 1989). He was selected as a second-team All-NFL player in 1984 and a second-team All-AFC player in 1985. His 62 career interceptions ranks tied for tenth in NFL history, and his 50 interceptions with the Seahawks remains a club record. Brown also played college football as a safety and punt returner for the University of Michigan from 1972 to 1974. While playing for Michigan, compiled 526 punt return yards (11.7 yards per return), three punt returns for touchdowns, 174 tackles, nine interceptions, 202 interception return yards, and 15 pass breakups. Mike Murphy (American Football)
Mike Murphy (born September 25, 1944) is an American football coach who held a variety of defensive coaching positions at the college and professional levels of the sport over a period of four decades, starting in 1970. Murphy was the defensive line coach for the University of Vermont from 1970 to 1973 and Idaho State University from 1974 to 1975. He became the defensive coordinator for Idaho State in 1976. He was the linebackers coach at Western Illinois from 1977 to 1978 before becoming the defensive coordinator for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League from 1979 to 1983. Tommy Brasher
Tommy Brasher is an American football coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. He currently works on special projects for the Chiefs. He coached the Philadelphia Eagles line in 1985, then moved on to the Atlanta Falcons until 1989. After this he went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to coach for one year in 1990. He coached the Seattle Seahawks Defensive line from 1992-1998. Then he went back to the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999, until 2005, when he retired. Gregory James McMackin (born April 24, 1945) is a retired American football coach and former player. He served as the head football coach at Oregon Institute of Technology from 1986 to 1989 and at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2008 to 2011, compiling a career college football record of 53–39–1. Before coming to Hawaii as defensive coordinator in 2007, he previously served in the same capacity for the Seattle Seahawks, the Miami Hurricanes, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Howard Mudd
Howard Edward Mudd (February 10, 1942 – August 12, 2020) was an American football offensive lineman and coach. He attended Midland High School and then Michigan State University. While at Michigan State he joined Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity. Mudd played football for Hillsdale College from 1960 to 1963, where he was a starting guard and a team captain. His play at the school led to his induction into the NAIA Hall of Fame. He then played seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears from 1964 to 1970. Mudd was a three-time Pro Bowler, in 1966, 1967, and 1968. He retired in 1971 due to a knee injury, and began his coaching career at the University of California the following year. Clarence Shelmon
Clarence Shelmon (born September 17, 1952 in Bossier City, Louisiana) is the former offensive coordinator for the National Football League San Diego Chargers. Shelmon prepped at Airline High School and continued on to play college football at the University of Houston, where he lettered twice as a running back and graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. Shelmon also attended Long Island University where he worked toward a master's degree in guidance and counseling. Robert Bratkowski (born December 2, 1955) is a former American football coach. He is the son of former NFL quarterback Zeke Bratkowski. Bratkowski played his college football for Washington State, as a wide receiver from 1975 to 1977. College assistant coach Bratkowski began his coaching career in 1978 at Missouri. Randy Mueller (born June 3, 1961) is an American football executive who currently serves as the director of pro personnel for the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL. Mickey Loomis is the executive vice president and General manager of the NFL's New Orleans Saints. He was named NFL executive of the year for 2006. From 2012-2019, he was also head of basketball operations for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association. Loomis grew up in Eugene, Oregon, and graduated from Willamette High School in 1974, then attended Northwest Christian University in Eugene, where he played basketball.
