Nutter Center
The Nutter Center is a multi-purpose arena located at Wright State University, in Fairborn, Ohio. It mainly serves as the home court of the Wright State Raiders men's and women's basketball teams. It is also regularly used as a music venue for touring concerts and shows and for area high school graduation ceremonies. History A local businessman and inventor, Ervin J. Nutter, donated $1.5 million to Wright State University in 1986. Funds from both the state of Ohio and the university contributed an additional $8 million to construction efforts which began in 1988. The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college basketball team competing in the Horizon League for the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. The head coach for the Green Bay Phoenix is Will Ryan. History The Green Bay men's basketball teams' began in the 1969–70 school year where they competed at the NAIA level before it moved to NCAA Division 2 in 1973. Dick Bennett
Richard A. Bennett (born April 20, 1943) is an American former college basketball coach who is best known for building the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball program into a mid-major power and revitalizing the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is the father of current Virginia Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett and former Northern Illinois women's basketball head coach Kathi Bennett. Early life Bennett was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Clintonville, Wisconsin. He graduated from Ripon College in 1965 with a B.A. in education. At Ripon, Bennett played basketball (guard), football (halfback and return specialist), and baseball (third baseman) four years each. Wright State Raiders Men's Basketball
The Wright State Raiders men's basketball is the men's college basketball team that represents Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament
The Horizon League men's basketball conference tournament is held annually at the end of the men's college basketball regular season. The tournament has been played each year since 1980. The winner of the tournament is designated the Horizon League Tournament Champion and receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The finals of the tournament are typically among the first held before the field for the NCAA tournament is announced. History and tournament format Through 2002, the entire tournament was hosted at a single venue. From 2003 through 2015, all first-round matches were played at the home court of the higher-seeded team involved.
