1995 Men's European Volleyball Championship
The 1995 Men's European Volleyball Championship was the nineteenth edition of the event, organized by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. It was hosted in two cities in Greece, in Piraeus and Patras, from September 8 to September 16, 1995. The games in Piraeus were held at Peace and Friendship Stadium, whilst in Patras at Dimitrios Tofalos Indoor Hall. Marco Meoni (born 25 May 1973 in Padua) is a volleyball player from Italy, who won the silver medal with the Men's National Team at the 1996 Summer Olympics, wearing the number two jersey. Julio Velasco
Julio Velasco (born 9 February 1952) is an Argentine former professional volleyball player and coach. He's had Italian citizenship obtained in 1992. Velasco was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2005. Velasco currently serves as a sports director for the Italian Volleyball Federation. Career Player Julio Velasco began playing volleyball at the age of 15 for National University of La Plata Club. Coach Velasco became assistant coach on the Argentina national men's team from 1981 to 1983. In 1983 he was invited to coach for Tre Valli Jesi in Italy, staying until 1985. He coached at Panini Modena 1985-1989 and led them to four Italian national championships in 1986-1989. In 1989 he was appointed head coach of the Italy men's national team leading them to unprecedented successes. Andrea Zorzi
Andrea Zorzi (born 29 July 1965 in Noale, province of Venice) is a former Italian volleyball player, who won two World Championships with the Italy men's national volleyball team (1990 and 1994). A 201 cm athlete, Zorzi was en effective spiker playing usually as opposite hitter. He was popularly known as Zorro. After his debut in Bormio in 1986, he totalled 325 caps with Italian national team. He was a silver medalist in the 1996 Summer Olympics and also competed at the 1988 and 1992 games. Playing for almost all the major volleyball clubs of Italy, including Maxicono Parma and Sisley Treviso Volley Treviso is a professional volleyball team based in Treviso. Paolo Tofoli
Paolo Tofoli (born August 14, 1966 in Fermo) is a former Italian volleyball player and current coach, standing at 188 cm. He played 342 times for the Italy national volleyball team. Tofoli was two time world champion in 1990 and 1994. He was also four times gold medal at the European Championship (1989, 1993, 1995 and 1999). He represented Italy at four Summer Olympics, winning two silver medals and a bronze medal. Starting from the season 2010/2011, Tofoli is working as the coach of the Italian women volleyball team Scavolini Pesaro.
