In the 1995 Isle of Man TT motorcycle racing competition, Joey Dunlop won the Senior TT and Lightweight TT events and came second to Phillip McCallen in the Formula I race. Changes were introduced in that the Supersport 66 Race was scrapped, and 600cc machines raced in the Junior TT instead. In addition the Lightweight TT incorporated Supersport 400s and 250cc machines. Isle Of Man TT
The Isle of Man TT or Tourist Trophy races are an annual motorcycle racing event run on the Isle of Man in May/June of most years since its inaugural race in 1907. The event is often called one of the most dangerous racing events in the world as many competitors have died. Overview The Isle of Man TT is run in a time-trial format on public roads closed to the public by an Act of Tynwald (the parliament of the Isle of Man). The event consists of one week of practice sessions followed by one week of racing. Rob Fisher (motorcycle Racer)
Rob Fisher ( fl. 1990s) is a retired motorcycle road racer who won ten sidecar races at the Isle of Man TT, second only to Dave Molyneux's 17 wins. He started his racing career riding sidecar motocross as a teenager at local events and then had a spell as a passenger at British Championship level. He disliked being a passenger and soon changed to driving, but this time on the road. He soon found success with two British Championships in 1991 and 1992, but with no sponsorship the team disbanded. He then got a ride on a Jacobs Yamaha FZR600, backed by Eddy's Motorcycles and competed in one British Championship round at Donington Park before the TT, where he finished fifth in Sidecar Race A, along with passenger Vince Butler. Dave Molyneux
Dave Molyneux (born 21 November 1963 in Douglas, Isle of Man) is a Manx professional Sidecar racer. He is the most successful Sidecar competitor in the history of the Isle of Man TT races, achieving 17 TT victories and 30 podium finishes. His race wins place him fourth on the all-time wins list, behind solo bike racers Joey Dunlop (26 wins), John McGuinness (23) and Michael Dunlop. Moly, as he is often known, was the sidecar lap record holder for the Snaefell mountain course set in 2015 with a time of 19 minutes 23.056 seconds, an average race speed of 116.785 mph for 1 lap. Robert Holden (motorcyclist)
Robert Lorne Holden (17 December 1958 – 31 May 1996) was a motorcycle road racer from New Zealand. Biography Born in Norland, near Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire in 1958, Holden emigrated from England to New Zealand with his family in 1973. He was the most successful of all Ducati Supermono racers. In 1994 Holden placed second in the Isle of Man TT, then returned to the 1995 Isle of Man TT to win the singles title. Holden also won in Ireland's North West 200 Supermono class in 1995. Holden died the following year in practice at the Isle of Man TT while riding a Ducati 916. Holden would ride up to four different machines stepping off his Superbike onto a 250 Production machine then straight onto a 600 sports production bike followed by 15 laps and his Rotax 250 GP bike, it seemed at the time that Holden's only rest was during the sidecar race although he did passenger for Kevin Maxwell for a season of road racing on one. . Steve Linsdell (born 1955) is a British former professional motorcycle road racer. He specialized in a branch of road racing known as traditional road racing held on street circuits such as the North West 200 and the Ulster Grand Prix. Motorcycle racing career Born in Westoning, Bedfordshire, Linsdell was notable for his achievements aboard unlikely machines and in the Isle of Man TT. He began motorcycle racing in 1977 on a hand-built 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet - a machine not commonly recognized as a race bike. Honda RC45
The Honda RVF750R RC45 was a fully faired racing motorcycle created for homologation purposes for the Superbike World Championship by Honda Racing Corporation. The RVF750R was the successor to the VFR750R RC30 (not to be confused with the sport touring VFR750F). Like its predecessor, the RVF750R featured a DOHC liquid-cooled V4 4-stroke engine with gear driven cams and a single-sided swingarm, but unlike the RC30 it utilized electronic fuel injection, in a setup very similar to the production 1992 NR750. The US spec engine had a 749.2cc capacity and was rated at 101 horsepower; the European version was rated at 118 horsepower. A simple rewire modification to the PGM-FI box increased power in the US engine up to the 118 hp. Formula TT
The Formula TT was a racing class for motorcycles from 1977 to 1990 as the official World Cup under the umbrella of International Motorcycling Federation. It was in three engine capacity classes, and was divided into both two and four-stroke engines.
