Brian Huggett
Brian George Charles Huggett, (born 18 November 1936) is a Welsh professional golfer. He won sixteen events on the European circuit, including two after the formal start of the European Tour in 1972. In 1968 he won the Harry Vardon Trophy for leading the Order of Merit. He played in the Ryder Cup six times and was a non-playing captain. He also won 10 times on the European Seniors Tour between 1992 and 2000, including the 1998 Senior British Open. Early life Huggett born in Porthcawl, Wales, the son of George Huggett, who was the professional at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. He had a younger brother Geoff who also became a professional golfer. John Morgan (golfer)
John Morgan (3 September 1943 – 23 June 2006) was an English professional golfer who competed on the European Tour in the 1970s and 80s. Morgan was born in Oxford. For much of his career, he was also the club professional at Royal Liverpool, one of only a few touring professionals still to maintain a club role at that time. He seriously competed at the 1974 Open Championship. He was tied for the lead with the eventual champion Gary Player after the first round and remained in the top ten after rounds 2 and 3. He ultimately finished T-13. He won one tournament on the European Tour, the 1986 Jersey Open, when he overcame Peter Fowler in a play-off. During the 1970s and 1980s he also competed in Africa on the Safari Circuit, where he won four times, including the Nigerian Open and the Ivory Coast Open. European Senior Tour
The Legends Tour is the current branding of the European Senior Tour, a professional tour for male golfers aged 50 and over, run by the PGA European Tour. The tour was branded as the Staysure Tour for the 2018 and 2019 seasons after UK-based insurance company Staysure became the first-ever title sponsors of the senior tour in December 2017. The tour was relaunched as the Legends Tour in 2020, after Ryan Howsam, founder and owner of Staysure, took majority ownership in a joint venture with the European Tour. History The Tour was founded in 1992 after calls from 60 leading professionals five years after the first Senior Open Championship in 1987. The highest profile event in Europe is the Senior British Open Championship, which is co-sanctioned by PGA Tour Champions and was played on the Old Course at St Andrews for the first time in 2018. Liam Higgins (golfer)
Liam Higgins (born 13 November 1942) is an Irish professional golfer. He won the 1977 Kerrygold International Classic, a European Tour event, at his home club, Waterville Golf Links. After reaching 50, he had a successful senior career, winning three times on the European Seniors Tour and being runner-up a further five times. His sons Brian and David Higgins (golfer), David are also professional golfers. John Louis Bland (born 22 September 1945) is a South African professional golfer who has won more than thirty professional tournaments around the world. Bland was born in Johannesburg. Turning professional in 1969, he was a leading player on the Southern African Tour for over twenty years. He spent the northern summers playing on the European Tour, where he won twice. He was a more consistent contender than this tally might suggest, as he finished in the top-20 on the Order of Merit six times. After reaching the age of fifty in 1995, Bland played mainly on the United States-based Champions Tour. The Bendinat London Seniors Masters was a men's professional golf tournament for players aged 50 and above as part of the European Seniors Tour. It was played in 1995 and then from 2005 to 2007. The event was played at the London Golf Club, Ash, Sevenoaks, Kent. It was played over the Heritage Course, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus. Tommy Horton
Thomas Alfred Horton, (16 June 1941 – 7 December 2017) was an English professional golfer. He finished in the top ten of the Open Championship four times, won a number of important tournaments both before and after the founding of the European Tour in 1972 and played in the Ryder Cup in 1975 and 1977. He reached 50 just before the founding of the European Seniors Tour and won 23 times on the tour between 1992 and 2000. Neil Coles
Neil Chapman Coles, MBE (born 26 September 1934) is an English professional golfer. Coles had a successful career in European golf, winning 29 important tournaments between 1956 and 1982. After reaching 50, he won a further 14 important Seniors tournaments between 1985 and 2002, winning his final European Seniors Tour event at the age of 67.
