1995 Denver Broncos Season
The 1995 Denver Broncos season was the franchise's 26th season in the National Football League, and the 36th overall. The season would be a turning point for the franchise, as being the first year that Mike Shanahan would be head coach, and that would include the drafting of future 2,000 yard rusher and Super Bowl MVP Terrell Davis. As of 2022, this was the last season in which the Broncos lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the regular season. AFC West
The American Football Conference – Western Division or AFC West is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division comprises the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. The division has sent teams to the Super Bowl eighteen times beginning with Super Bowl I when the Chiefs played the Green Bay Packers. As of the 2021 season, the Broncos and Raiders were tied with the most Super Bowl wins within the division with 3 each; The Broncos have appeared in the most Super Bowls in the division with 8 and the Raiders have appeared in 5. Bob Ferguson (American Football)
Robert Eugene Ferguson (August 29, 1939 – December 30, 2004) was an American football fullback. He played college football at Ohio State University, where he won the Maxwell Award in 1961. Ferguson then played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996. Playing career Ferguson attended Troy High School in Troy, Ohio. Ferguson's first year of eligibility at Ohio State University was 1959. The starting fullback at the beginning of the season was the senior, and Heisman Trophy candidate, Bob White. Through the course of the season, however, Ferguson supplanted White as the starter and led the team in rushing that season, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. John Beake
John E. Beake (born December 20, 1938) is a retired American football executive who served as general manager of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League from 1985 to 1998. Coaching Beake graduated from Long Branch High School in 1957 and Trenton State College in 1961. He then earned a master's degree from Penn State, where he served as a graduate assistant under Rip Engle. He was the head basketball and assistant football coach at New York Military Academy from 1963 to 1964. He then spent four seasons as the head football coach at Nyack High School, where he compiled a 24–4–4 record and won three league champions. In 1968 he was hired as an assistant coach by the Kansas City Chiefs. In his seven seasons in Kansas City, the Chiefs won three division titles, one conference championship, and Super Bowl IV. Byron Daniel Chamberlain (born October 17, 1971) is a former professional American football tight end in the National Football League. He played professionally for the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, and the Washington Redskins. Terrell Davis
Terrell Lamar Davis (born October 28, 1972) is an American former professional football player who was a running back for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL) from 1995 to 2001. He is the Broncos all-time leading rusher and still holds the record for most postseason single-season touchdowns (8) which he achieved in 1997. He is also credited with starting the “Mile High Salute”; a celebratory tradition among Denver Broncos players after scoring a touchdown. Davis was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Davis was drafted by the Broncos in the sixth round (196th pick overall) of the 1995 NFL Draft. He is the Denver Broncos' all-time leading rusher, with 7,607 rushing yards.
