Íþróttafélagið Leiknir, commonly known as Leiknir Reykjavík, is an Icelandic multi-sports club. It is best known for its men's football team that plays in 1. deild karla (football), 1. deild karla, the second tier of Icelandic football, but also fields departments in Badminton, basketball, volleyball and karate. The club was founded in 1973 and is based in Breiðholt, Reykjavík. In 2014 1. deild karla, 2014 the men's football team placed 1st in the 1. deild karla and won a promotion to the Úrvalsdeild, however after just 2015 Úrvalsdeild, one season they were relegated to back to the first division. UMFS Dalvík (officially named Ungmennafélag Svarfdæla, usually referred to as Dalvík, previously referred to as Svarfdælir) is an Icelandic sports club located in Dalvík. The club has had competitors in various sports in Iceland, most notably football, athletics and basketball. Knattspyrnudeild Vestra, also known as Vestri, is the football department of the Íþróttafélagið Vestri multi-sport club and is based in Ísafjarðarbær, Iceland. Men's History The club was founded in 1986 as the football department of ''Badmintonfélag Ísafjarðar'', or BÍ for short. It first participated in the Icelandic tier-4 league, then known as 4. deild karla, that same year and their first coach was former Icelandic international player Björn Helgason. In 1988, Ísafjörður biggest club, Íþróttabandalag Ísafjarðar (ÍBÍ), folded after years of financial difficulties and most of their players moved over to BÍ who took over as the town's major football club.
