The 1994–95 Utah Utes men's basketball team represented the University of Utah as a member of the Western Athletic Conference during the 1994–95 men's basketball season. Rick Majerus
Richard Raymond Majerus (February 17, 1948 – December 1, 2012) was an American basketball coach and TV analyst. He coached at Marquette University (1983–1986), Ball State University (1987–1989), the University of Utah (1989–2004), and Saint Louis University (2007–2012). Majerus's most successful season came at Utah in the 1997–98 season, when the Utes finished as runners-up in the 1998 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Majerus was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. Early life Majerus was the son of Alyce and Raymond Majerus, a Kohler factory worker and labor leader who was at one time secretary-treasurer of the United Auto Workers. Rick was raised with sisters Jodi and Tracy. As a teenager, Rick accompanied his father to the civil rights marches in Selma, Alabama, an experience that had a profound impact on him. 1994–95 Maryland Terrapins Men's Basketball Team
The 1994–95 Maryland Terrapins Men's Basketball Team represented the University of Maryland in the 1994–95 season. Led by head coach Gary Williams, the Terrapins had their one of their first majorly successful seasons under Williams. This season is regarded as one of the first stepping stones to establishing the Terps as the national powerhouse that they would eventually become. This season, they shared the ACC regular season title, and even though they improved on their previous seasons' record of 18–12, they matched their postseason result of the previous year making it to the NCAA's Sweet Sixteen. Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is a basketball award given to the Western Athletic Conference's (WAC) most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1980–81 season. Keith Van Horn of Utah and Nick Fazekas of Nevada are the only players to have won the award three times. Three other players—Michael Cage, Josh Grant and Melvin Ely—have won the award twice. Danny Ainge, the first ever WAC Player of the Year, was also the John R. Wooden Award winner in 1980–81. Utah has the most all-time winners with seven. There have been four ties in the award's history, most notably in 1982–83 when there was a three-way tie. Due mainly to major membership turnover from 2010 to 2014, only three current WAC members— California Baptist, New Mexico State, and Utah Valley—have had a winner. Keith Van Horn
Keith Adam Van Horn (born October 23, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player. Van Horn played for the New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A forward, Van Horn finished his college basketball career with the Utah Utes as the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). He was a consensus first-team All-American in 1997. Van Horn was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the second pick in the 1997 NBA draft and was traded to the New Jersey Nets on draft night. In his first NBA season, he was named to the 1998 NBA All-Rookie Team. Van Horn played for the Nets from 1997 to 2002, leading the team in scoring in the 1997–98 and 1998–99 seasons, finishing fifth in the NBA in scoring in the 1998–99 season, and was a key member of the 2001–02 Nets' team that made the NBA Finals. The Utah Utes are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City. The athletic department is named after the Ute tribe of Native Americans. Taco Bell Arena
ExtraMile Arena (formerly BSU Pavilion and Taco Bell Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the western United States, on the campus of Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. It is located on the east end of campus, between West Campus Lane and César Chávez Circle, immediately northwest of Albertsons Stadium.
