1994–95 FA Women's Premier League
The 1994–95 season of the FA Women's Premier League was the fourth season of national top-flight league women's football in England. It was the first season under FA Premier League branding after the WFA Women's National League was founded in 1991–92. Below the FA Women's Premier League National Division were the Northern and Southern Divisions. The 1993–94 double-winners Doncaster Belles and League Cup winners Arsenal Ladies continued their rivalry in the National Division. Arsenal won their "fiercely contested" early-season match 3–0 with goals by Sammy Britton, Rebecca Lonergan and Jo Churchman. At the end of 1994–95, Arsenal won their second title and equalled Doncaster's two championships at that point. The runners-up were Liverpool Ladies, renamed in 1994 and previously known as Knowsley United. The 1991–92 runner-up club were relegated, Red Star Southampton. FA Women's Premier League
The FA Women's National League, formerly WFA National League and FA Women's Premier League (WPL), is a group of six football divisions run by the English Football Association. Founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association, the League included England's top division from 1991 to 2010. The League now sits at step 3 and 4 of the women's football pyramid (below the FA Women's Super League and the Women's Championship). The League's Premier Division/National Division contained England's top women's clubs from 1991–92 until the season 2009–10. During this time, Arsenal Ladies won 12 League titles. Below the National Division was a Northern Division and Southern Division, whose teams could win promotion. Southampton Saints Girls and Ladies Football Club, founded in 1979 as Red Star Southampton, was an English women's football club formerly affiliated with Southampton F.C.. At the end of the 2013–14 season the South West Combination WFL dissolved and the team moved into FA Women's Premier League - Division One South West. They finished 4th out of the 9 teams in the newly formed leagues' first season. The club was disbanded due to financial reasons in July 2019. History The club began in 1979 as Red Star Southampton, competing in the Home Counties League then the Southern Regions League. In 1991 Red Star won the Southern Region Division One and became founder members of the FA Women's Premier League National Division. UEFA Women's Euro 1995
The 1995 UEFA Women's Championship was a women's association football tournament which was held between 11 December 1994 and 26 March 1995, involving UEFA-affiliated national teams who have qualified for the competition. Germany won the competition for the third time. Format In the qualifying round, 29 teams were divided into 8 groups (containing 3 or 4 teams), with the winners of each group advancing to the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals and semi-finals, matches were played on a home-and-away two-legged basis. In the final, only one match was played, with the winner claiming the UEFA Women's Championship title. While one of the semi-final matches was played in 1994, and there was no singular host, UEFA considers the semi-finals and final as part of the final tournament. FA Women's Premier League Southern Division
The FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division is a league in the third level in the women's football pyramid in England, along with the FA Women's National League North, Northern division. These two divisions are part of the FA Women's National League and below the Women's Super League and Women's Championship. The league is played on a home and away basis, with each team playing each other twice, and points being awarded in the standard three points for a win format. The bottom two clubs are relegated, also on a geographical basis, to the Division One South West, and Division One South East. The winner plays the winner of the Northern Premier League winner to determine an overall National League champion who is promoted to the Championship.
