The Women's Individual Time Trial at the 1994 World Cycling Championships was held on Thursday 25 August 1994, in Agrigento/Catania Catania (, , Sicilian and ) is the second largest municipality in Sicily, after Palermo. Rainbow Jersey
The rainbow jersey is the distinctive jersey worn by the reigning world champion in a cycling discipline, since 1927. The jersey is predominantly white with five horizontal bands in the UCI colours around the chest. From the bottom up the colours are: green, yellow, black, red and blue; the same colours that appear in the rings on the Olympic flag. The tradition is applied to all disciplines, including road racing, track racing, cyclo-cross, BMX, Trials and the disciplines within mountain biking. A world champion must wear the jersey when competing in the same discipline, category and speciality for which the title was won. For example, the world road race champion would wear the garment while competing in stage races (except for time trial stages) and one-day races, but would not be entitled to wear it during time trials. Susanne Ljungskog (born 16 March 1976 in Halmstad) is a Swedish former cyclist. A four-time Olympian (1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008), she won the world road race championship in 2002 and 2003. Svetlana Bubnenkova
Svetlana Yuryevna Bubnenkova-Stolbova (Russian Светлана Юрьевна Бубненкова; born 2 January 1973 in Izhevsk, Udmurtia) is a racing cyclist from Russia. She represented her native country at three Summer Olympics: 1996, 2000 and 2004. Her biggest achievement was winning the 2002 Giro d'Italia Femminile. Bubnenkova twice won the world title in the women's team time trial (1993, 1994). She tested positive for the use of EPO in the Tour Féminin en Limousin 2006. In June 2007 she was suspended for two years by the French doping association. Later the UCI adopted this suspension, but due to miscommunications Bubnenkova continued to race in 2007. At the end of 2007 the UCI disqualified Bubnenkova in all races she started between June and September 2007.
