1994 U.S. Women's Open
The 1994 U.S. Women's Open was the 49th U.S. Women's Open, held July 21–24 at the Old Course of Indianwood Golf and Country Club in Lake Orion, Michigan, north of Detroit. Patty Sheehan, the 1992 champion, won her second title in three years, one stroke ahead of runner-up Tammie Green, for the fifth of her six major titles. The event was televised by ESPN and ABC Sports. Sheehan birdied the 16th hole and Green had a chance to force a Monday playoff, but her birdie putt on the 72nd hole did not fall. Helen Alfredsson opened with 63 (−8) on the first day to better the single round record at the U.S. Women's Open by two strokes. She also set the record for the first 36 holes at 132 (−10), but carded 153 (+11) on the weekend. She had been as low as 13-under after 43 holes. The 1994 LPGA Tour was the 45th season since the LPGA Tour officially began in 1950. The season ran from February 4 to November 6. The season consisted of 32 official money events. Beth Daniel won the most tournaments, four. Laura Davies led the money list with earnings of $687,201. Helen Alfredsson
Helen Christine Alfredsson (born 9 April 1965) is a Swedish professional golfer who played primarily on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and is also a life member of the Ladies European Tour. She won the LPGA major Nabisco Dinah Shore and twice finished second in the U.S. Women's Open. She also won the Women's British Open once and the Evian Masters three times before those events were designated as majors in women's golf by the LPGA Tour. Pat Bradley (golfer)
Pat Bradley (born March 24, 1951) is an American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1974 and won 31 tour events, including six major championships. She is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. Early life and family Bradley was born on March 24, 1951, in Westford, Massachusetts, she was the only daughter among six children of Richard and Kay Bradley. Pamela Wright (born 26 June 1964) is a professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. Amy Alcott (born February 22, 1956) is an American professional golfer and golf course designer. Sherri Steinhauer
Sherri Steinhauer (born December 27, 1962) is an American professional golfer who plays on the Legends Tour. She retired from the LPGA Tour in 2012 after a 26-year career. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin and attended The University of Texas at Austin. Her rookie season on the LPGA Tour was 1986. She has won eight tournaments on the Tour, including two major championships, the 1992 du Maurier Classic and 2006 Women's British Open (she also has two, 1998 and 1999, titles recognized by the Ladies European Tour as majors but not by the LPGA Tour). Deb Richard (born June 13, 1963) is an American former professional golfer who was a member of the LPGA Tour for twenty years during the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Amateur career Richard was born in Abbeville, Louisiana in 1963, and raised in Manhattan, Kansas. She first found success as an amateur golfer by winning the Kansas state high school golf championship three consecutive years for Manhattan High School (1979–1981). Sally Little (born 12 October 1951) is a South African-born professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1971 and won 15 LPGA Tour events, including two major championship, during her career.
