1994 Superclub Competition
The 1994 Superclub competition was the second season of a nationwide association football club competition in New Zealand. It was won by North Shore United. Structure The competition was divided into three stages. In the first phase three ten-team regional round-robin leagues were played, with each team playing every other team home and away. The top teams from this stage progressed to a national league; the bottom teams were relegated to lower regional leagues. The top eight teams (three from the northern and central regions and two from the southern region) then took part in the national league stage, with each team playing every other team once. Finally, the top four teams played a knock-out competition to decide the champion. Petone FC is an association football club in Petone, New Zealand. The club provides football for men, women and children. The club's men's first team competes in the Central League with the women's first team competing in the Capital Football W-League. The club is based at Memorial Park in the Lower Hutt suburb of Petone. History and achievements The club is the successor for Petone United, a club founded in 1889 as Petone Wanderers before merging with the Wellington Rowing Club in 1892, competing under the name United until disbandment in 1895. The club has won the Chatham Cup three times (1928, 1930, and 1949) and won the Central League title in 1990. Cashmere Wanderers
Cashmere Technical is an association football club based in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was formed in early 2012 from the merger of two of the city's premier teams, Cashmere Wanderers and Woolston Technical. The two clubs had agreed to work together in early 2011, and the 2011 Christchurch earthquake which devastated their home city and resulted in the loss of many playing facilities hastened their merger into a combined side. Cashmere Technical play in the Mainland Premier League, and have won the Chatham Cup twice as Cashmere but also once as Christchurch Technical Old Boys. Dunedin Technical
Dunedin Technical (known locally as Tech) is a semi-professional association football club in Dunedin, New Zealand. They compete in the ODT FootballSouth Premier League and were the 2018 ODT FootballSouth Premier League champions. Club history The club was founded as King Edward Technical College Old Boys in 1920, and changed their name to Dunedin Technical in 1980. They and are based at Culling Park, in the suburb of Saint Kilda. The club has regularly reached the later stages of the Chatham Cup (New Zealand's premier knockout football competition), and have reached the final on four occasions, in each of which they have met a team from Auckland. Christchurch United is an amateur association football club in Christchurch, New Zealand. They compete in various Mainland Football competitions at Junior and Senior level. The club has won six National League titles and six Chatham Cup trophies. Christchurch United are the current Southern League champions. Halswell United is an amateur association football club based in Christchurch, New Zealand in the suburb of Halswell. They will compete in the New World Mainland Premier League. The club was founded in 1964 as Halswell United Soccer, changing its name in 1999 when the national body officially changed its title to include the word football, and it is one of the largest clubs in the South Island, with over 900 members. History The club was formed in March and April 1964, with meetings at the Halswell Scouts Hall, which were on the site now occupied by the club's rooms. Roslyn-Wakari Association Football Club is an association football club based in Dunedin, New Zealand. They compete in the FootballSouth Premier League. History The club's history began in 1888 when the Wakari Football Association first played in the local Dunedin league. This was only 44 years after the foundation of Dunedin, and the club is one of the oldest existing football clubs in the country (the oldest, North Shore United, was founded in 1886). The Wakari AFC consisted of 14 members with 11 or 12 playing members. The first committee included Sir Robert Stout (Premier of NZ 1884–1897) as its president. The club obtained a farmer's paddock and a ditch was dug as the perimeter for the pitch, outside the ditch the ball was out. In 1890 the Wakari AFC changed its name to Roslyn AFC. Nelson United
Nelson United was a New Zealand soccer club, based in the South Island city of Nelson. Their home ground was Guppy Park. The team was founded in 1968 through the amalgamation of Nelson Thistle (founded 1924) and Nelson Rangers (founded 1950 as Settlers, name changed in 1959).
