National League West
The National League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed for the 1969 season when the National League expanded to 12 teams by adding the San Diego Padres and the Montreal Expos. For purpose of keeping a regular-season of 162 games, half of the teams were put into the new National League East, East Division and half into the new West Division. Within each division, the teams played 18 games each against their five division mates (90 games), and also 12 games against the teams in the opposite division (72 games), totaling 162 games. Geography Despite the geography, the owners of the Chicago Cubs insisted that their team be placed into the East Division along with the teams in New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Tyrone Eugene Harris (born December 5, 1964) is an American former professional baseball pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) in all or parts of seven seasons, from to . Early life Harris was a 1982 graduate of Okeechobee High School. He attended Tulane University, where he played football as well as baseball. Harris accepted a scholarship to play football for the Tulane Green Wave with the expectation that he would also play on the baseball team. However, due to a change in coaching staffs, he was only allowed to play one season of college baseball. Career Harris was a fifth-round draft pick of the Montreal Expos in 1986. Kevin Christian Maas (born January 20, 1965) is a former Major League Baseball player. Originally viewed as a top prospect for the New York Yankees he was unable to replicate the success of his rookie year and played for two major league ballclubs over five years. Phillip Alan Plantier (born January 27, 1969) is an American former professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) primarily as an outfielder from 1990 to 1997. Angelo Dominic "Archi" Cianfrocco (born October 6, 1966) is an American former professional baseball player. He played all or parts of seven seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), mostly at first and third base, from 1992 to 1998. Career Cianfrocco was drafted twice, first by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round (259th overall) of the 1986 amateur entry draft, then by the Montreal Expos in the 5th round (122nd overall) of the 1987 amateur entry draft.
