The 1994 Oran Park ATCC round was the tenth and final round of the 1994 Australian Touring Car Championship. Skaife, Longhurst and Garnder tangled down the pack, which sent Skaife and Longhurst off into the infield. Wayne Gardner Racing was an Australian motor racing team that competed in the Australian Touring Car Championship from 1994 until 1999. History Formation The team was created to further the motor sport career of 1987 World Motorcycle Champion, Wayne Gardner who retired from motor cycle racing at the end of the 1992 season. After racing with the Holden Racing Team in 1993, a falling out with team owner Tom Walkinshaw saw Gardner leave the team at season's end. In late 1993 Gardner purchased Bob Forbes Racing that had competed in the 1993 season with one VP Commodore driven by Neil Crompton. Initially operating out of Bob Forbes' Mona Vale premises the team relocated to Wetherill Park. Former Gibson Motorsport manager Alan Heaphy was appointed team manager. Daily Planet Racing was an Australian motor racing team that competed in the Australian Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars between 1992 and 2000. History Daily Planet Racing was formed in 1992 by Daily Planet proprietor John Trimbole. Initially competing in the Holden HQ series, a Holden VL Commodore was purchased from Garry Rogers Motorsport. For the Bathurst 1000, two cars were entered with a second VL leased from Perkins Engineering. Only the latter started, with the other heavily damaged in practice. In 1993, Trimbole raced Larry Perkins' 1992 season VL Commodore and a Mitsubishi Lancer GSR in production car racing, before purchasing Perkins' 1993 Bathurst 1000 winning VP Commodore for 1994. Playscape Racing was an Australian motor racing team that competed in Australian touring car racing between 1989 and 1998. History At the 1988 Bathurst 1000, explosives entrepreneur Kevin Waldock's Blast Dynamics came on board as a sponsor of Miedecke Motorsport’s Ford Sierra RS500. For 1989, Waldock contracted Miedecke Motorsport to build and maintain customer RS500. However following the destruction of Andrew Miedecke's own car at Lakeside, this car was taken over by Miedecke and another car built for Waldock, debuting at the Oran Park 300. The car was painted yellow, a livery all Playscape Racing cars would carry. Lansvale Racing Team, also known as Lansvale Smash Repairs Racing was an Australian motor racing team that competed in Australian touring car racing between 1986 and 2003. History The team first appeared at the 1986 Bathurst 1000 when Sydney crash repair proprietors and Sports Sedan racers Trevor Ashby and Steve Reed debuted an ex Tony Mulvihill Holden Commodore VK. Pinnacle Motorsport was an Australian motor racing team that competed in Australian touring car racing in 1994 and 1995. History Pinnacle Motorsport first appeared in seven rounds of the 1994 Australian Touring Car Championship with Greg Crick and Tony Scott sharing the driving of Peter Brock's 1993 Advantage Racing built Holden Commodore VP. Mark Skaife
Mark Skaife (born 3 April 1967) is a retired Australian motor racing driver. Skaife is a five-time champion of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, including its predecessor, the Australian Touring Car Championship, as well as a six-time Bathurst 1000 winner. On 29 October 2008, he announced his retirement from full-time touring car racing. Since retiring from driving, Skaife has worked as a commentator and presenter for the series for both the Seven Network and Fox Sports Australia. Steven Johnson (born 6 September 1974) is an Australian racing driver. He is the son of former racer and now team-owner Dick Johnson. He competed full-time for Dick Johnson Racing from 2000–2012. Johnson is married and has two children. Johnson's best season result was in 2001, where he led the championship for two rounds and took two round wins, including the Canberra round win, where he recorded victory from pole position in the first race, before finishing the rest of the races in the top five. Jim Richards (born 2 September 1947) is a New Zealand racing driver who won numerous championships in his home country and in Australia. While now retired from professional racing, Richards continues to compete in the Touring Car Masters series.
