1993–94 Green Bay Phoenix Men's Basketball Team
The 1993–94 Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team represents the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in the 1993–94 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Dick Bennett. They were the champions of the Mid-Continent Basketball tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid in the 1994 NCAA Tournament, the school's second ever appearance in the tournament. Dick Bennett
Richard A. Bennett (born April 20, 1943) is an American former college basketball coach who is best known for building the Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball program into a mid-major power and revitalizing the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is the father of current Virginia Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett and former Northern Illinois women's basketball head coach Kathi Bennett. Early life Bennett was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Clintonville, Wisconsin. He graduated from Ripon College in 1965 with a B.A. in education. At Ripon, Bennett played basketball (guard), football (halfback and return specialist), and baseball (third baseman) four years each. Sherell Ford
Sherell Ford (born August 26, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'7" forward from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Ford was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the first round (26th overall) of the 1995 NBA Draft and signed a three-year $1.67 million contract. However, Ford played only one NBA season before being released by the team. In his brief NBA career, he played in 28 games and scored a total of 90 points. His final NBA game was played on April 21, 1996, in a 99–88 loss to the Denver Nuggets where he played for 3 minutes and his only stat was 1 steal. While at Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, Ford was teammate of fellow NBA players Michael Finley and Donnie Boyce. The Summit League, or The Summit, is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States from Illinois on the East of the Mississippi River to the Dakotas and Nebraska on the West, with additional members in the Western United States, Western state of Colorado and the Southern United States, Southern state of Oklahoma. The 1994 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament involved 64 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. It began on March 17, 1994, and ended with the championship game on April 4 in Charlotte, North Carolina, played at Charlotte Coliseum. A total of 63 games were played. The Wright State Raiders men's basketball is the men's college basketball team that represents Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio.
