Listed below are the dates and results for the 1994 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds for the Asian zone ( AFC). For an overview of the qualification rounds, see the article '' 1994 FIFA World Cup qualification''. A total of 29 teams entered the competition. The Asian zone was allocated 2 places (out of 24) in the final tournament. There were two rounds of play: *First Round: The teams were divided into 6 groups of 4 or 5 teams each, although Myanmar and Nepal withdrew after playing no matches. ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb ( ar, عمر بن الخطاب, also spelled Omar, ) was the second Rashidun caliph, ruling from August 634 until his assassination in 644. Ahmed Radhi Humaiesh Al-Salehi, ( ar, أحمد راضي هميش الصالحي, 21 April 1964 – 21 June 2020) was an Iraqi footballer who played as a forward. Regarded as one of Iraq and Asia's best players of all-time, Radhi scored the only Iraqi goal in the FIFA World Cup during its 1986 edition, a low shot to the corner of the net against Belgium in a 2–1 defeat. Alaa Kadhim (born 1 July 1970) is an Iraqi football striker who played for both the Iraq and Talaba SC, where he was also the club president. Alaa was one of the best Iraqi strikers during the 90s during Iraq’s 1994 World Cup qualifying campaign. During the games, Alaa scored 7 goals, including the winner in the 2-1 win over Iran. The forward started his career with Al-Sinaa before moving to Talaba in 1990. Wu Qunli (born March 20, 1960, in Guangzhou) is a Chinese football coach and former international midfield player. As a player he represented Guangzhou FC and Hong Kong First Division League side South China, while internationally he also played for his country in the 1988 Summer Olympics and 1992 AFC Asian Cup.
