John Manley (politician)
John Paul Manley (born January 5, 1950) is a Canadian lawyer, businessman, and politician who served as the eighth deputy prime minister of Canada from 2002 to 2003. He served as Liberal Member of Parliament for Ottawa South from 1988 to 2004. From January 2010 to October 2018 he was president and CEO of the Business Council of Canada. He is currently the Chairman of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and serves on the advisory board of the Leaders' Debates Commission. Background Manley was born in Ottawa, Ontario, and attended Bell High School. He received a BA from Carleton University in 1971 and an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa in 1976. Brian Tobin
Brian Vincent Tobin (born October 21, 1954) is a Canadian businessman and former politician. Tobin served as the sixth premier of Newfoundland from 1996 to 2000. Tobin was also a prominent Member of Parliament and served as a cabinet minister in Jean Chrétien's Liberal government. Early life, education, and family Tobin was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland. Sergio Marchi (politician)
Sergio Marchi, (born May 12, 1956), is a Canadian politician and former diplomat, who served as a federal Liberal Member of Parliament and cabinet minister and, later, as an ambassador. Marchi was born in Argentina to an Italian family who subsequently emigrated to Canada. He first entered politics at the municipal level, where he was elected Alderman for Ward 1 in North York (now part of Toronto) in 1982. He was subsequently elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1984 election as the Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) for the Toronto-area riding of York West. Michel Dupuy
Michel Dupuy, (born January 11, 1930) is a Canadian diplomat, journalist, academic and politician. Born in Paris, France, his father was Pierre Dupuy who was also a Canadian diplomat. Dupuy was a long time diplomat in the Department of External Affairs. He served as Ambassador to the United Nations from 1980 to 1981, and Ambassador to France from 1981 to 1985. He subsequently entered politics and was defeated in his attempt to win a seat in the House of Commons of Canada in the 1988 election. He was elected on his second attempt in the 1993 election as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Laval West. Allan Rock
Allan Michael Rock (born August 30, 1947) is a Canadian lawyer, former politician, diplomat and university administrator. He was Canada's ambassador to the United Nations (2004–2006) and had previously served in the Cabinet of Jean Chrétien, most notably as Justice Minister (1993–1997) and Health Minister (1997–2002). Rock was appointed as president and vice-chancellor of the University of Ottawa by its board of governors on June 3, 2008. His term began on July 15, 2008, and it ended on July 1, 2016.
