Burnley () is a town and the administrative centre of the wider Borough of Burnley in Lancashire, England, with a 2001 population of 73,021. It is north of Manchester and east of Preston, at the confluence of the River Calder and River Brun. The town is located near the countryside to the south and east, with the towns of Padiham and Brierfield to the west and north respectively. Tony Philliskirk
Anthony Philliskirk (born 10 February 1965) is an English former footballer. He played as a striker for 11 different clubs between 1983 and 1998. Playing career Philliskirk turned professional at the age of 18, when he joined Sheffield United. He made his debut for the Blades in a pre-season friendly against Mansfield Town at Field Mill on 17 August 1983. He had to wait until 18 October 1983, before making his league debut for Sheffield United against Brentford at Griffin Park. He scored his first goal for the club two weeks later at Plymouth Argyle. John Pender (footballer)
John Patrick Pender (born 19 November 1963) is an Irish retired professional footballer who played as a central defender. Career Born in Luton, Pender made his professional debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Swansea City in March 1982, aged 18. During his career at Wolves, he helped the team win promotion to the First Division in 1982–83, and was capped five times by the Republic of Ireland under-21 side. Pender moved to Charlton Athletic in 1985, once again earning promotion to the First Division in 1985–86, before joining Bristol City in 1987. In 1990, Pender joined Burnley for a fee of £70,000. At Burnley, he was part of the squad that won the Fourth Division in 1991–92, and also played in the 2–1 win against Stockport County in the 1994 Second Division play-off final. John Michael Mullin (born 11 August 1975) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder for clubs including Sunderland, Burnley F.C, Rotherham United, Tranmere Rovers F.C and Accrington Stanley, and is the brother of former Accrington and Morecambe player Paul Mullin. Ian Measham (born 14 December 1964) is a former professional footballer who played as a defender for Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Rochdale, Cambridge United, Burnley and Doncaster Rovers. Kevin Clifton "Ted" McMinn (born 28 September 1962) is a Scottish former association footballer who played as a winger. His nickname is ''The Tin Man''.
