The 1993 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) rookie draft was an event at which teams drafted players from the amateur ranks. It was held on January 17, 1993, at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula. Johnedel Cardel
Johnedel Cardel (born June 6, 1970) is a Filipino former professional basketball player who played in the Philippine Basketball Association from 1993–1997. He is the current head coach of the Terrafirma Dyip. He also played in the Metropolitan Basketball Association. Collegiate / Amateur career Cardel first played for the Jose Rizal College Light Bombers in the NCAA during his high school days and was a reliever on the San Sebastian team in College. He became one of the more popular players playing for De La Salle Green Archers in the Ateneo-La Salle UAAP championship in 1988. Cardel was a member of the back-to-back UAAP champion De La Salle in 1989–1990. San Miguel Beermen
The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with the Magnolia Hotshots and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. It is the most successful franchise in the history of the PBA and the only remaining original franchise in the league. The Beermen have the most titles with 28 and the most all-time victories with more than 1,200 wins. Freddie Abuda
Freddie Abuda (born October 8, 1969) is a Filipino former basketball player. He was drafted by Purefoods, then known Coney Island Ice Cream, in the 2nd round as the 14th overall pick. Abuda played eleven seasons in the PBA, most of them with the San Miguel Beermen. Abuda gained the moniker The Scavenger as a large proportion of his points were the result of his scoring on a follow-up after rebounding a teammate's missed shot while playing in the Philippine Basketball Associations (PBA). He began his career as a reserve player for Purefoods and was later traded to San Miguel Beer where he developed into an important role player. Olsen Racela
Rodericko Cesar Escueta Racela, also known as Olsen Racela, (born November 1, 1970) is the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws men's basketball team. He is also currently an assistant coach of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is a retired PBA player and is considered to be one of the best point guards who ever played in the league. He was also a notable member of the Philippine national basketball team on many occasions.
