1992–93 Maine Black Bears Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 1992–93 Maine Black Bears Men's ice hockey season was the 16th season of play for the program, the 14th season competing at the Division I level, and the 9th season in the Hockey East conference. The Black Bears represented the University of Maine and played their home games at Alfond Arena, and were coached by Shawn Walsh, in his 9th season as their head coach. Led by freshman phenom and future Hockey Hall of Famer Paul Kariya, the Black Bears compiled an unprecedented record of 42-1-2, dominating the competition on the way to winning the national championship, the first in school history. Maine Black Bears Men's Ice Hockey
The Maine Black Bears men's ice hockey is a (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Maine. The Black Bears are a member of Hockey East. They play at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena commonly known as Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine. The Black Bears have appeared in 11 Frozen Fours, have a 28–18 record in NCAA Tournament games, and have won two national championships—in 1993 and 1999. Program history Birth of Maine ice hockey (1977–84) The University of Maine, then known as the University of Maine at Orono, officially developed an NCAA sanctioned men's ice hockey program in 1977. Adstock, Quebec
Adstock is a municipality in the Les Appalaches Regional County Municipality in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. Its population in the Canada 2016 Census was 2,806. Adstock was created on February 14, 2001, after the amalgamation of Saint-Méthode-de-Frontenac, Quebec, Saint-Méthode-de-Frontenac and Sacré-Coeur-de-Marie-Partie-Sud, Quebec, Sacré-Coeur-de-Marie-Partie-Sud. On October 24, 2001, Sainte-Anne-du-Lac, Chaudière-Appalaches, Quebec, Sainte-Anne-du-Lac joined the new municipality. The Waterloo Black Hawks are a Tier I junior ice hockey team playing in the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL) under president and general manager P.K. O'Handley. The Black Hawks' home ice is the Young Arena in Waterloo, Iowa. History Early history The Waterloo Black Hawks began as a semi-professional senior team in the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 1962. The league had been renamed prior to the season after beginning in 1948 as the American Amateur Hockey League. The team's home ice was the McElroy Auditorium. The team won the USHL championship consecutively between the seasons of 1964 and 1968.
