1992–93 Birmingham City F.C. Season
The 1992–93 Football League season was Birmingham City Football Club's 90th in the Football League. They competed in the second tier of English football, renamed Football League First Division following the Premier League's split from the Football League. They were Promotion and relegation, promoted to Division One in 1991–92, and finished in 19th position in the 24-team division, avoiding relegation back to the third tier on the final day of the season. They lost in their opening first-round matches in both the 1992–93 FA Cup and the 1992–93 Football League Cup, League Cup, and were eliminated at the group stage of the Anglo-Italian Cup. Terry Cooper (footballer Born 1944)
Terence Cooper (12 July 1944 – 31 July 2021) was an English football player and manager. He was a left back in the Leeds United team of the 1960s and 1970s, and featured for England at the 1970 Mexico World Cup. He later went on to manage both of Bristol's football teams, Birmingham City and was twice manager of Exeter City. Early career Cooper was born in Brotherton, West Riding of Yorkshire. He was not discovered as a young player in the conventional manner – he simply turned up at Leeds United one day with his football boots in a paper bag, asking for a trial. He was granted his wish and impressed enough to be offered an apprentice contract. Birmingham City Football Club
Birmingham City Football Club is a professional football club based in Birmingham, England. Formed in 1875 as Small Heath Alliance, it was renamed Small Heath in 1888, Birmingham in 1905, and Birmingham City in 1943. Abbey Stadium
The Abbey Stadium, currently known as the Cledara Abbey Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Cambridge, England. It has been the home ground of Cambridge United since 1932, and currently has a maximum capacity of 7,937 spectators. Louie Donowa
Brian Louie Donowa (born 24 September 1964) is an English former professional footballer who played as a winger. He made nearly 400 appearances for a variety of clubs in the Football League and also played in several other European countries. Playing career Born in Ipswich, Suffolk, Donowa began his career with Norwich City. Promotion and relegation is used by sports leagues as a process where teams can move up and down among divisions in a league system, based on their performance over a season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are sometimes called open leagues.
