The Championships, Wimbledon
The Wimbledon Championships, commonly known simply as Wimbledon, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is widely regarded as the most prestigious. It has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London, since 1877 and is played on outdoor grass courts, with retractable roofs over the two main courts since 2019. Wimbledon is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, the others being the Australian Open, the French Open, and the US Open. Wimbledon is the only major still played on grass, the traditional tennis playing surface. Also, it is the only Grand Slam that retains a night-time curfew, though matches can now continue until 11.00 pm under the lights. Jamie Morgan (born 8 June 1971) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. Morgan never won an ATP level singles title, but finished runner-up three times. Daniel Marco (born 31 January 1966) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. Biography Marco grew up in the Moroccan city of Tangier, where he was born in 1966. The son of a competitive swimmer, Marco moved to Marbella in 1986 and was based there during his career. His only ATP Tour main draw appearance came at the 1992 South African Open in Johannesburg. Rüdiger Haas
Rüdiger Haas (born 15 December 1969) is a former professional tennis player from Germany. Career Despite winning two Grand Prix doubles titles, Haas never competed in the main draw of a Grand Slam event. He did however make some Grand Slam appearances in the juniors. The biggest tournament he participated in as a singles player was the 1991 German Open, part of the ATP Super 9 series. He lost in the first round to Omar Camporese from Italy. Ugo Colombini (born 7 October 1967) is a former professional tennis player and sports agent from Italy. Biography Professional tour Colombini, who comes from Milan, turned professional in 1986. Early in his career he appeared in the main draw of Grand Prix (ATP) tournaments in Bari and Milan, but primarily featured on tour as a doubles player. Mark Knowles (born 4 September 1971) is a Bahamian professional tennis coach and former professional tennis player, becoming the former number 1 in world as a specialist in doubles tennis. Arnaud Benjamin Boetsch (born 1 April 1969) is a French former tennis player who turned professional in 1987. Known for his stylish single-handed backhand, he won 3 career titles, reaching his highest ATP singles ranking of World No. 12 in April 1996.
