1992 Summer Olympics National Flag Bearers
During the Parade of Nations portion of the 1992 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, athletes from each country participating in the Olympics paraded in the arena, preceded by their flag. The flag was borne by a sportsperson from that country chosen either by the National Olympic Committee or by the athletes themselves to represent their country. Parade order As the nation of the 1896 Summer Olympics, first modern Olympic Games, Greece entered the stadium first; whereas, the host nation Spain at the 1992 Summer Olympics, Spain marched last. Other countries entered in alphabetical order in the French language, instead of both Catalan language, Catalan and Spanish language, Spanish (despite that these languages had been displayed on the name boards and used to announce the country names), due to the political sensitivity surrounding the use of Catalan. Chinese Taipei Olympic Flag
The Chinese Taipei Olympic flag is used by the Republic of China (ROC) Taiwan team, which competes under the title " Chinese Taipei" during the Olympic Games and other events, in place of the flag of the Republic of China. This is a result of the complex Cross-Strait relations between the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China. The Olympic flag has been in use since 1981, following the decision by the International Olympic Committee that the ROC could not compete under the country's name or flag. Due to this restriction, the National Anthem of the Republic of China also could not be played when the team wins medals, so, instead, the National Flag Anthem of the Republic of China was played during the flag raising of the medal ceremony. The shooting competitions at the 1992 Summer Olympics took place at a shooting range complex in Mollet del Vallès outside Barcelona, Spain. Competitions were held in a total of thirteen events — seven men's events, four women's events, and two events open to both genders. It was the first time a woman (Zhang Shan in the skeet competition) took a gold medal in such an open event, and also the last time they were held. It was also the first games for 10 metre running target, which replaced 50 metre running target on the Olympic program, as well as the first games with the new targets in all rifle and pistol events except 50 metre pistol, leading to numerous automatic Olympic records.
