1992 Pacific Cup (rugby League)
The 1992 Pacific Cup was the sixth edition of the Pacific Cup, a rugby league tournament held between Pacific teams. The tournament was hosted by New Zealand and eventually won by Western Samoa, who defeated Tonga 18–14 in the final, after double extra time. The 1990 Pacific Cup was the fifth edition of the Pacific Cup, a rugby league tournament held between Pacific teams. Whetu Taewa
Whetu Taewa (born 19 October 1970) is a New Zealand former professional rugby league footballer who represented New Zealand six times between 1989 and 1996. Playing career New Zealand Whetu was born on the West Coast, New Zealand and started playing rugby league there; all grades up to the West Coast Representative side. In 1987 he made the New Zealand under 17's training squad and also débuted in the West Coast rugby union side. Taewa made the Junior Kiwis in 1988. In 1989 he moved to Christchurch and played for the Hallswell club. This was the year he first made the New Zealand national rugby league team, joining their tour to Great Britain. Esau Mann (born 11 May 1971) is a Tongan former professional rugby league footballer who represented Tonga at the 2000 World Cup. Jason James Mackie (born 25 December 1968) is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer. Playing career He represented Northland 18 times between 1990 and 1993 scoring 14 tries. Kenneth McIntosh is a New Zealand rugby league coach and former player who currently coaches the East Coast Bays Barracudas. He played professionally with the Penrith Panthers. Playing career McIntosh began his career with the Northcote Tigers in the Auckland Rugby League.
