1992 America's Cup
The 28th America's Cup was contested between the winner of the 1992 Citizen Cup defender selection series, America³, and the winner of the 1992 Louis Vuitton Cup challenger selection series, Il Moro di Venezia. It was the first edition of the America's Cup that was sailed on International America's Cup Class yachts. This was last Cup of the best-of-seven format held since 1930; the best-of-nine would begin in 1995, continuing through 2007. San Diego Yacht Club
San Diego Yacht Club is a yacht club located in San Diego Bay. It is located in Point Loma across from a spit of land known as Shelter Island. Facilities The San Diego Yacht Club facility has a main dining room and outdoor deck seating, a bar, banquet space, a sailing center, a library, a swimming pool, saunas, hot tub, gym, tennis courts, and a pavilion equipped with a barbecue. There are wet and dry slips for member use for a monthly fee. The wet slips can accommodate boats up to 90 feet in length, and the dry slips are for smaller boats up to 23 feet in length. SDYC leases an outstation on Catalina Island from the Catalina Island Conservancy. The outstation is named Buffalo Beach and is located at the White's landing, Long Point area. The outstation offers resources for club members such as cabins and tents for rent, showers, stoves, bathrooms, and cooking utensils. A dockmaster tends the outstation six months a year. Buddy Melges
Harry C. "Buddy" Melges Jr. (born January 26, 1930) is a competitive sailor. He has earned national and international championships in several classes in conventional sailing and ice-boating. Early life Born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Melges grew up on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, sailing the boats designed and manufactured by his father, Harry Melges Sr. Based in Zenda, Wisconsin, Melges Performance Sailboats is still in operation, and is now run by Buddy's son, Harry Melges III. Flickr ( ; ) is an American image hosting and video hosting service, as well as an online community, founded in Canada and headquartered in the United States. It was created by Ludicorp in 2004 and was a popular way for amateur and professional photographers to host high-resolution photos. It has changed ownership several times and has been owned by SmugMug since April 20, 2018. Flickr had a total of 112 million registered members and more than 3.5 million new images uploaded daily. On August 5, 2011, the site reported that it was hosting more than 6 billion images. Paul Cayard
Paul Pierre Cayard (born May 19, 1959) is an American yachtsman and professional sailor. He has competed at multiple world championship level sailing events, including the America's Cup, the Whitbread Round the World Race, the Volvo Ocean Race and the Olympic Games. In 1998 he was selected as the US Rolex Yachtsmen of the Year. He has won seven world championships, twice participated in the Olympic Games and seven times in the America's Cup. In 2011 he was elected into the US Sailing Hall of Fame. Biography Paul Cayard was born in San Francisco, California. He began sailing in 1967, at the age of eight. He graduated in 1981, with a degree in Business Management from San Francisco State University. He speaks three languages: English, French and Italian. Josh Belsky is an American sailor who has competed in multiple America's Cups. Joshua, born June 1966 is from Rye, New York, and he studied at St. Lawrence University. He was a pitman on board America3 when it defended the 1992 America's Cup. Belsky sailed with Team Dennis Conner when they lost the 1995 America's Cup. He then was on board ''EF Language'' when they won the 1997–98 Whitbread Round the World Race. ''EF Language'' was skippered by Paul Cayard who Belsky then joined in ''AmericaOne Challenge'' for the 2000 Louis Vuitton Cup.
