Below are the rosters for the 1991 FIFA Women's World Cup tournament in China. The 12 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 18 players, including at least two goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament. 1991 FIFA Women's World Cup
The 1991 FIFA Women's World Cup was the inaugural FIFA Women's World Cup, the world championship for women's national association football teams. It took place in Guangdong, China from 16 to 30 November 1991. FIFA, football's international governing body selected China as host nation as Guangdong had hosted a prototype world championship three years earlier, the 1988 FIFA Women's Invitation Tournament. Matches were played in the provincial capital, Guangzhou, as well as in Foshan, Jiangmen and Zhongshan. The competition was sponsored by Mars, Incorporated, maker of M&M's candy. With FIFA still reluctant to bestow their "World Cup" brand, the tournament was officially known as the 1st FIFA World Championship for Women's Football for the M&M's Cup. It was won by the United States, whose captain April Heinrichs formed a forward line dubbed the " Triple-Edged Sword" with Carin Jennings and Michelle Akers-Stahl. IK Skovbakken (women)
VSK Aarhus (earlier IK Skovbakken) is a Danish women's football team from Risskov, Aarhus. It is the women's section of VSK Aarhus. The team was originally created as the women's football section of Hjortshøj-Egå IF, a.k.a. HEI Aarhus. It was the leading team in the 1980s, winning eight championships between 1982 and 1991 including a six-year winning streak. It subsequently won the two first editions of the national cup in 1993 and 1994, and two more championships in 1997 and 1998. In 2002 the team was transferred to IK Skovbakken. It won its first title as such, its third national cup, in 2009. It also reached the final in 2003, 2006 and 2010. In the Elitedivisionen it has usually ranked third, with Brøndby IF and Fortuna Hjørring dominating the championship. Bonny Madsen (born 10 August 1967) is a Danish former football defender, who was part of the Denmark women's national football team. She competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, playing three matches. At club level she played for Malmö in Sweden, as well as Lugo, Pisa and ACF Milan in Italy. Club career Madsen was born in Nigeria to a Danish father and Nigerian mother. She moved to Copenhagen aged one year and began playing football as a forward, before an injury to her team's regular defender prompted a successful change of position. Keld Gantzhorn
Keld Gantzhorn Knudsen (born 3 October 1954) is a Danish former footballer and manager. Career Gantzhorn played for Odense, and appeared for the team in the 1978–79 European Cup on 27 September 1978 against Bulgarian club Lokomotiv Sofia, which finished as a 1–2 away loss. He later began coaching, and was the manager of the Denmark women's national team from 1988 until 1996. He coached the team at the 1991 FIFA Women's World Cup, 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup and 1996 Summer Olympics. Under the leadership of Keld Gantzhorn, the team won a bronze medal during the European Championships in Denmark in 1991 by winning 2–1 over Italy in the match of 3–4. place, after losing to Norway in the semifinals after rematch and penalty shootout.
