1990–91 Oklahoma State Cowboys Basketball Team
The 1990–91 Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball team represented Oklahoma State University as a member of the Big Eight Conference during the 1990–91 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Eddie Sutton and played their home games at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys finished with a record of 24–8 (10–4 Big Eight) and won the Big Eight regular season title. Oklahoma State received an at-large bid to the 1991 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament as No. 3 seed in the East region. After defeating New Mexico in the opening round, the school's first NCAA Tournament win in 26 years, the Cowboys defeated 1990–91 NC State Wolfpack men's basketball team, NC State to reach the Sweet Sixteen. Eddie Sutton
Edward Eugene Sutton (March 12, 1936 – May 23, 2020) was an American college basketball coach. A native of Bucklin, Kansas, Sutton played college basketball at Oklahoma A&M (later Oklahoma State) and was a head coach at the high school, junior college, and college levels spanning six decades. After beginning his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State under Henry Iba, Sutton was a successful head coach at Tulsa Central High School and the College of Southern Idaho. Sutton began coaching at the NCAA level in 1969 at Creighton University, followed by Arkansas from 1974 to 1985, Kentucky from 1985 to 1989, and Oklahoma State from 1990 to 2006. For part of the 2007–08 season, Sutton was interim head coach at San Francisco. During his college coaching career, Sutton is one of only eight NCAA Division I coaches to have had more than 800 career wins. Star Spencer High School
Star Spencer High School is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 1901 a group of people from Spencer County, Indiana relocated in Oklahoma. They built an elevator and mill, a grocery store and later a hardware store. They named their new town Spencer for their old home and eventually called their school Spencer as well. Star School (in a nearby area) was named by Henry Dodd in honor of a school in Kansas where he had lived previously. Two schools merged to become Star Spencer in 1956. The official mascot for the school is the Bobcats. Star Spencer is part of the Oklahoma City Public Schools. Notable alumnus include Mr. Myron Jacobs and Mr. Daniel Peoples. Allstate Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Rosemont, Illinois, United States. It is located near the intersection of Mannheim Road and Interstate 90, adjacent to the city limits of Chicago and O'Hare International Airport.
