1990 Miami Dolphins Season
The 1990 Miami Dolphins season was the team's twenty-first season in the National Football League and twenty-fifth overall. After four seasons out of the playoffs with a combined record of 30 wins and 31 losses, the Dolphins returned to postseason play for the first time since 1985 with twelve wins and four losses. They defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card Game before being knocked out of contention by the eventual AFC champions, the Buffalo Bills, in the Divisional Playoff Game. 1990 marked the first time since their record 1972 perfect season that the Dolphins played the New York Giants, and merely the second in team history. The reason for this is that before the admission of the Texans in 2002, NFL scheduling formulas for games outside a team's division were much more influenced by table position during the previous season. Gary Stevens (American Football)
Gary Stevens (born March 19, 1943) is a former American football coach. He was the offensive coordinator Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL) from 1989 to 1997. He also coached at the University of Miami from 1980 to 1988, helping the Hurricanes win national championships in 1983 and 1987. From 1980 to 1982 he served as the wide receivers coach for the Hurricanes before being promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, positions he held from 1983 to 1988. John Sandusky
John Thomas "Sandy" Sandusky, Jr. (December 28, 1925 – March 5, 2006) was an American football player and coach. He played seven seasons as an offensive and defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1950s for the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers before starting a 36-year career as an assistant coach. He was head coach of the Baltimore Colts for part of the 1972 season. Sandusky grew up in Philadelphia and attended the nearby Villanova University. He played tackle on Villanova's football team and was named a first-team All-American in 1949, his senior year. The Browns selected him in the second round of the 1950 NFL Draft. Sandusky played six seasons for the Browns, who won NFL championships in 1950, 1954 and 1955 behind an offense that featured quarterback Otto Graham and end Dante Lavelli. Monte Clark
Monte Dale Clark (January 24, 1937 – September 16, 2009) was an American football player who served as head coach for the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. He played college football at USC. Early years Clark attended Kingsburg High School, where he practiced football, basketball, baseball and track. As a senior, he contributed to the team winning a football championship, that included a 55-0 championship game win against Avenal High School. He was named the MVP of the first Fresno City-County All-Star football game. He accepted a football scholarship from USC. Charley Winner
Charley Winner (born July 2, 1924) is a former American football player and coach. Winner was born in Somerville, New Jersey and, during World War II, flew seventeen missions in a B-17 Flying Fortress plane, spending six weeks in a German prisoner of war camp. Upon his release from the service he played running back at Washington University in St. Louis, where Weeb Ewbank was head coach. After Ewbank moved on to coach for the Cleveland Browns, Winner took an assistant position with the nearby Case Tech Rough Riders, present-day Case Western Reserve University, while also serving as a scout for the Cleveland Browns. In 1950, he married Ewbank's daughter, Nancy. When Ewbank was hired as head coach of the Baltimore Colts in 1954, Winner went along and helped the team capture NFL titles in both 1958 and 1959. Bryan Jon Wiedmeier (October 19, 1959 – June 7, 2016) was an American National Football League executive. He spent five seasons with the Cleveland Browns after joining their organization as Executive Vice President-Business Operations on January 11, 2010. Nose Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. Alfred Oglesby
Alfred Lee Oglesby (January 27, 1967September 26, 2009) was a professional American football defensive end and defensive tackle in the National Football League. He played for the Miami Dolphins (1990–1992), the Green Bay Packers (1992), the New York Jets (1993–1995), and the Cincinnati Bengals (1995). Early life and football career Oglesby was born in Texas on January 27, 1967. Growing up in Weimar, Texas, he lettered in three sports eventually leading to a scholarship from the University of Houston.
