Justin Gloden
Justin Gloden (born 22 March 1953 in Elvange) is a Luxembourgish athlete competing in the long-distance events. He represented his country in the marathon at the 1988 Summer Olympics finishing 36th out of 118 competitors. He also competed at the 1983 and 1987 World Championships. He is the national record holder in all distance events from the 1500 metres to the marathon. In 1980, he was chosen Luxembourgish Sportsman of the Year. He was also a footballer playing for Spora Luxembourg. He got 1 cap for the Luxembourg national football team in a 1975 friendly against Germany. Yakov Grigoryevich Tolstikov (russian: Я́ков Григо́рьевич То́лстиков; born 20 May 1959 in Prokopyevsk) is a former Russian distance runner. Tolstivov rose to worldwide prominence following his surprise upset of favorite Gelindo Bordin in the 1991 London Marathon. He set a personal best of 2:09:17 hours at the race which went unbeaten as a Soviet record. This time was the fastest by any European in the 1991 season, and the third fastest time in the world after Kōichi Morishita and Takeyuki Nakayama of Japan. In international competition he represented the Unified Team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, coming in a distant 22nd. Richard Hooper (born 26 August 1956) is a former long-distance runner from Raheny, Dublin, Ireland. Career He represented Ireland in the Olympic marathon in Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984 and Seoul 1988. He also represented Ireland four times in the European Championships - in Czechoslovakia 1978, Athens 1982, Stuttgart 1986 and Split 1990. He is a three-time record-holding winner of the Dublin Marathon in 1980, 1985 and 1988 and he set his personal best time at the 1988 Irish National Championship in Wexford, clocking 2:12:19 finishing in 2nd place behind John Woods. He competed in the men's marathon at the 1996 Summer Olympics, representing Belgium and finishing in 67th place.
