1989 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming And Diving Championships
The 1989 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships were contested in March 1989 at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana at the 66th annual NCAA-sanctioned swim meet to determine the team and individual national champions of Division I men's collegiate swimming and diving in the United States. The men's and women's titles would not be held at the same site until 2006. Texas again topped the team standings, finishing 79 points ahead of Stanford. It was the Longhorns' second consecutive and third overall title and the third for coach Eddie Reese. Eddie Reese
Edwin Charles Reese (born July 23, 1941) is an American college and Olympic swimming coach, and a former college swimmer. Reese serves as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns men's swimming and diving team that represents the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He previously served as the men's head coach for the United States' Olympic Swimming Team in 2004 and 2008, as well as an assistant coach at the 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2012 Summer Olympics. He is widely regarded as the greatest swim coach in history. Early years Reese was born in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1941. Nebraska Cornhuskers Swimming And Diving
The Nebraska Cornhuskers (often abbreviated to Huskers) are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The Tennessee Volunteers men's Swimming and Diving program represents the University of Tennessee located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Volunteers are currently coached by Matt Kredich. The Vols host their swim meets in the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center which was newly built in 2008. The Vols compete in the SEC where they have won 10 SEC team titles, 173 individual titles and 45 relay crowns.
