1989 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship
The 1989 All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship was the 59th staging of the All-Ireland Junior Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's second tier Gaelic football championship. Meath entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Kildare in the Leinster quarter-final. The All-Ireland final was played on 10 September 1989 in Coventry, between Cork and Warwickshire, in what was their first meeting in the final in two years. Cork won the match by 0–18 to 0–03 to claim their eighth championship title overall and a first title since 1987. Cork's Noel Twomey was the championship's top scorer with 1-16. Diarmuid McCarthy
Diarmuid McCarthy (1956 – 9 July 2022) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played at club level with Naomh Abán and Muskerry and at inter-county level with the Cork senior football team. He usually lined out as a forward. Career McCarthy first played Gaelic football at juvenile and underage levels with Naomh Abán. He was just 17-years-old when he was part of the club's adult team that won the Cork JFC title in 1973 before later winning a Cork IFC title in 1977. His performances at club level also earned inclusion on the Muskerry divisional team. McCarthy first appeared on the inter-county scene during a two-year tenure with the Cork minor football team. He was at centre-forward when Cork beat Mayo in the 1974 All-Ireland minor final. He also spent two years with the Cork under-21 team. McCarthy made his senior team debut during the 1982 Munster SFC. The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. Clonmel GAA Ground
Clonmel GAA Ground, also called Clonmel Sportsground, is a GAA stadium located in the town of Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland. It is the home ground of St. Mary's hurling team and Gaelic football team Clonmel Commercials. It is also occasionally used by the Tipperary county football team and has hosted games in the Munster Senior Football Championship, McGrath Cup and National Football League. Munster Junior Football Championship
The Munster Junior Football Championship is a gaelic football tournament between the six counties of Munster: Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Waterford. It is the third-tier county teams playing off in a single-elimination tournament with 2 quarter finals instead of 4 (as of 2014). The cup was first given to the winners in 1957. Páirc Tailteann () is a Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA stadium in Navan, County Meath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is the home of the Meath GAA, Meath Gaelic football and Hurling teams.
