1988–89 FC Bayern Munich Season
The 1988–89 FC Bayern Munich season was the 89th season in the club's history and 24th season since promotion from Regionalliga Süd in 1965. Bayern won its tenth 1988–89 Bundesliga, Bundesliga Title. This title was the fourth title in five seasons. The club reached the third round of the 1988–89 DFB-Pokal, DFB-Pokal and the semifinals of the 1988–89 UEFA Cup, UEFA Cup. Several changes were made to the roster with eight players leaving via transfer or loan, including Lothar Matthäus, Andreas Brehme and Jean-Marie Pfaff. Karlsruher SC is a German association football club, based in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg that currently plays in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of German football. Klaus "Auge" Augenthaler (born 26 September 1957) is a German former professional football player and manager. A defender, he won seven Bundesliga titles in his 15-year club career with Bayern Munich. He also represented the West Germany national team, winning the FIFA World Cup in 1990. Lee Michael Dixon (born 17 March 1964) is an English retired professional footballer and pundit who played as a right-back for Arsenal. Dixon was also capped 22 times for England. A childhood Manchester City fan, Dixon began his footballing career as a youth at Burnley, making his professional debut for them in 1982. Alan Martin Smith (born 21 November 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is a co-commentator, and sometimes studio pundit for Sky Sports.
