Maarten Ducrot
Maarten Ducrot (born 8 April 1958, in Vlissingen) is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer, and currently a cycling reporter for the Dutch television. Biography Ducrot rode the Tour de France five times, of which he finished four times. In his first Tour in 1985, he won the 9th stage. After the Tour, he was given the combativity award. He also competed in the team time trial event at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Ducrot ended his professional cycling career in 1991, after which he worked as organisation advisor. Since 2004, he is a cycling reporter for the Dutch television program Studio Sport. In January 2000, on the Dutch TV-show ''Reporter'', he admitted that he had used cortisone and testosterone, as well as Synacthen, "a very bad medicine", and he still regrets using it. The Vuelta a Andalucía (Tour of Andalusia) or Ruta del Sol (Route of the Sun) is a regional Spanish road bicycle race first held in 1925. Since 2005, it has been a 2.1 category race on the UCI Europe Tour. The race became a part of the new UCI ProSeries in 2020. The nickname, Ruta del Sol, is in reference to the region's popular tourist coastline the Costa del Sol. Adri Van Der Poel
Adrie van der Poel (born 17 June 1959 in Bergen op Zoom) is a retired Dutch cyclist. Van der Poel was a professional from 1981 to 2000. His biggest wins included six classics, two stages of the Tour de France and the World Cyclo-Cross Championships in 1996. He also obtained the second place and silver medal in the World Road Championships in 1983 behind Greg LeMond and five second places in the World Cyclo-Cross championships. The Grand Prix Adrie van der Poel is named after him. Career Van der Poel began his career on the road and during his first season as a professional he obtained second place in Paris–Nice behind Stephen Roche and second place in the La Flèche Wallonne. In the Tour de France, he won two stages; his stage win in 1988 set the record for fastest stage (since then only surpassed by three cyclists). Luca Gelfi
Luca Gelfi (21 June 1966 - 3 January 2009) was an Italian racing cyclist. A professional from 1988 to 1998, he won two stages of the 1990 Giro d'Italia and one of the 1997 Volta a Portugal. He finished second in the 1993 Milan-Sanremo. After retiring in 1998, he owned and operated a bike shop and directed Team Fratelli Giorgi, a prestigious junior cycling team. Acácio Mora da Silva (born 2 January 1961 in Montalegre, Portugal) is a Portuguese former professional road bicycle racer. He was a professional from 1982 to 1994 during which he won stages in the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and stages in many other stage races. He won three stages in total in the Tour de France, one in 1987, one in 1988 and one in 1989. After his stage win in 1989, he wore the yellow jersey as leader of the general classification for four days. In 1986 he won the Züri-Metzgete and was also the Portuguese national road champion.
