1987–88 United States Network Television Schedule
The following is the 1987–88 network television schedule for the four major English language commercial broadcast networks in the United States. The schedule covers primetime hours from September 1987 through August 1988. The schedule is followed by a list per network of returning series, new series, and series cancelled after the 1986–87 season. All times are Eastern and Pacific, with certain exceptions, such as ''Monday Night Football''. Note: This is the first fall season for Fox, and the first year since 1958-59 that a fourth commercial television network ( NTA) was broadcasting. Fox would air only two days a week until 1989. PBS is not included; member stations have local flexibility over most of their schedules and broadcast times for network shows may vary. New series are highlighted in bold. In the United States, for most of the history of broadcasting, there were only three or four major commercial national terrestrial networks. From 1946 to 1956, these were ABC, CBS, NBC and DuMont (though the Paramount Television Network had some limited success during these years). Werewolf (TV Series)
''Werewolf'' is an American horror series, and one of the original shows in the Fox network's broadcast line-up during its inaugural season of 1987–1988. The show follows the adventures of Eric Cord (John J. York), a college student transformed into a werewolf who undergoes a quest to rid himself of his curse by killing the apparent originator of his 'bloodline', a drifter named Janos Skorzeny (the character's name is a reference to the name of the vampire in the classic TV film '' The Night Stalker'') played by Chuck Connors (in his last television role). ''The Tracey Ullman Show'' is an American television variety show starring Tracey Ullman. It debuted on Fox on April 5, 1987, the network's second original primetime series to air following '' Married... with Children'', and ran until May 26, 1990. The show was produced by Gracie Films. The show blended sketch comedy with musical numbers and dance routines, choreographed by Paula Abdul, along with animated shorts. The format was conceived by creator and executive producer James L. The ABC Sunday Night Movie
''The ABC Sunday Night Movie'' is a television program that aired on Sunday nights, first for a brief time in 1962 under the title ''Hollywood Special'' (although ''Time'' magazine lists this version as ''The Sunday Night Movie'') to supposedly replace an open time slot for the TV show ''Bus Stop'', which was cancelled after March 1962. It then began airing regularly under its more commonly known title from late 1964 to 1998, on ABC.
