MC Shan
Shawn Moltke (born September 6, 1965) better known by his stage name MC Shan, is an American hip hop and R&B recording artist. He is best known for his song "The Bridge" produced by Marley Marl, and for collaborating with Snow on "Informer", the international number-one hit single. MC Shan's New York birth records state he was born in Queens, New York. Career In 1985, Shan started on MCA Records with his first and only MCA single, "Feed the World". He was also interviewed in the 1986 cult documentary ''Big Fun In The Big Town''. MCA were not sure about what to do with hip hop, thus he was dismissed from the label. Not long after, Shan signed to Cold Chillin' Records due to his relationship with Marl, and joined Marl's Juice Crew. His debut album '' Down by Law'' was released on Warner Bros in 1987. The Skinny Boys
The Skinny Boys are an American hip hop group, originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Skinny Boys members are Shockin' Shawn (Shaun Harrison), Superman Jay (James J. Harrison), and The Human Jock Box (Jacque D. Lloyd). The Skinny Boys were influenced by the much more prominent hip hop pioneers The Fat Boys, and their single "Jock Box" was influenced by The Fat Boys' member Human Beat Box. As of September 21,2021, they have been awarded "The Key to the City" in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Skinny Boys started its career on the independent record label Bush, run by Rhonda Bush. Warren Sabir McGlone (born September 17, 1969), known by the stage name Steady B, is an American hip hop rapping, emcee who, along with Schoolly D, the Will Smith, Fresh Prince, and Three Times Dope, was one of the first wave of Philadelphia-area emcees to gain notoriety in the mid-to-late 1980s. Steady B was a member (and ''de facto'' leader) of Philadelphia's Hilltop Hustlers crew. Ba-Dop-Boom-Bang
''Ba-Dop-Boom-Bang'' is the fifth album released by Grandmaster Flash. It was released in 1987 on Elektra records. The cassette version was titled ''Ba-Dop-Boom-Bang...And More'' and the CD version was titled ''Ba-Dop-Boom-Bang...And Even More'' – each containing bonus tracks that were not on the original vinyl. European pressings of the album misprinted the title of the track "All Wrapped Up" as "All Rapped Up". It was reissued in the US on CD in 2005 by Collectors' Choice Music. This release reverted to the original vinyl track listing and omitted any additional tracks. The booklet also removed the printed credits and lyrics and replaced them with a new essay by Peter Relic. Joseph Saddler (born January 1, 1958), popularly known by his stage name Grandmaster Flash, is an American DJ and rapper. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of Hip Hop DJing, cutting, scratching and mixing. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, becoming the first Hip Hop act to be honored. In 2019 he won the Polar Music Prize. ''Open Sesame'' is the fourth studio album by American hip hop group Whodini. It was released on August 27, 1987 via Jive Records, the final album of new material the group would release on the label before moving to MCA Records. Audio production was handled almost entirely by Larry Smith, except for two tracks both produced by Sinister and Whodini. Whodini
Whodini is an American hip hop group that was formed in 1982. The Brooklyn, New York-based trio consisted of vocalist and main lyricist Jalil Hutchins; co-vocalist John Fletcher, a.k.a. Ecstasy (who wore a Zorro-style hat as his trademark; June 7, 1964 – December 23, 2020); and turntable artist DJ Drew Carter, a.k.a. Grandmaster Dee.
