1987 European Competition For Women's Football
The 1987 European Competition for Women's Football took place in Norway. It was won by the hosts in a final against defending champions Sweden. Once again, the competition began with four qualifying groups, but this time a host nation was selected for the semi-final stage onwards after the four semi-finalists were identified. Trude Stendal
Trude Margaret Stendal (born 30 May 1963) is a Norwegians, Norwegian former Association football, footballer. She played as a Forward (association football), forward for Toppserien club IL Sandviken and the Norway women's national football team. She scored twice in the Norwegians' 2–1 win over Sweden women's national football team, Sweden in the final of the 1987 European Competition for Women's Football. During her football career Stendal also worked in a bank. She trained as a Nursing, nurse when injury brought about her premature retirement from football. Stendal had injured her knee in a match against the United States women's national soccer team, United States a month after the Euro 1987 final. After making her comeback, she broke her leg in a 1991 Norwegian Women's Cup match against SK Trondheims-Ørn, Trondheims-Ørn and was forced to retire. Jackie Sherrard
Jackie Sherrard (born 9 June 1966) is a former English international football midfielder who won forty seven caps for England. She spent most of her career at Doncaster Belles where she won the Women's FA Cup five times. Club career Sherrard's first triumph in the WFA Cup came in 1983 when Doncaster Belles beat St Helens 32 at Sincil Bank. Three successive defeats in finals followed, before success in 1987 with a 20 win over St Helens at the City Ground, a match in which Sherrard scored. She scored again at Gresty Road in 1988 against Leasowe Pacific for back to back victories in the competition. Derby County's Baseball Ground was the scene for her fourth WFA Cup victory in 1990 with a 10 win over Friends of Fulham. Millwall Lionesses beat Doncaster in 1991 but Sherrard celebrated a fifth and final victory in 1992 at Prenton Park after a 40 win against Red Star Southampton. Lena Mari Anette Videkull (born 6 December 1962) is a Swedish former association football forward who won 111 caps for the Sweden women's national football team, scoring 71 goals. Videkull can be seen in the Sveriges Television documentary television series '' The Other Sport'' from 2013. Club career Videkull won the Damallsvenskan championship six times in her career. She was the league's top goalscorer on a record six occasions. International career Videkull made her senior Sweden debut in the final of the first UEFA championships for national women's teams in May 1984. Sweden beat England 1–0 in the first leg at Ullevi, then prevailed in a penalty shootout at Kenilworth Road, Luton after a 1–0 defeat. Peter Mikkelsen (referee)
Peter Mikkelsen (1 May 1960 – 30 January 2019) was a Danish football referee, once the youngest referee to be selected to officiate at the FIFA World Cup. He refereed five matches at FIFA World Cups: two in 1990 and three in 1994. Drammen () is a city and municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Elisabetta Vignotto (born 13 January 1954) is an Italian former footballer who played as a striker. Club career At club level Vignotto represented numerous different clubs in Serie A. In 1986 she told ''la Repubblica'': "So far I've changed teams ten times. But it's not that I'm capricious. The teams broke up." Carolina Morace
Carolina Morace (; born 5 February 1964) is an Italian politician and former footballer, who played as a striker. She was most recently the head coach of Lazio Women. She played for the Italian national team and for various clubs in women's Serie A. She was the top scorer in Serie A in the 1984–85 season, and for 11 consecutive years from 1987–88 to 1997–98, and she holds the distinction of scoring the first hat-trick in a FIFA Women's World Cup. She is also a registered lawyer. After retiring as a player, she began a managing career with Lazio. She then managed the Italian national team from 2000 to 2005, and the Canadian national women's team from 2009 to 2011.
