NC State Wolfpack Men's Soccer
The NC State Wolfpack men's soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The team is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I (NCAA), Division I. NC State's first men's soccer team was fielded in 1950. The team plays its home games at Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh. The Pack is coached by Marc Hubbard. The Wolfpack had much of their success in the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, where over the span of 10 seasons, the Pack appeared in eight NCAA Tournaments. The 1987 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament was the 29th annual tournament organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the national champion of men's collegiate soccer among its Division I members in the United States. Clemson Tigers won their second national title, defeating San Diego State in the championship game, 2–0. The final match was played on December 6 at Riggs Field in Clemson, South Carolina.
