The 1986 Scott Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was played February 22 to March 1 at the Thompson Arena in London, Ontario. It was the first year the defending champions would get a berth into the competition and return as Team Canada. The first team Canada was skipped by Linda Moore. Darcy Kirkness
Darcy Robertson (born Darcy Kirkness, March 13, 1965) is a Canadian curler. She is a three-time provincial champion and former Canadian junior champion. Career Robertson had a successful junior career which involved winning the 1984 Canadian Junior Curling Championships with her younger sister Barb, Janet Harvey and Barbara Fetch. Two years later, Robertson, her sister Barb, Fetch and Faye Irwin would win the provincial women's championship and would be given the right to represent Manitoba at the 1986 Scott Tournament of Hearts. At the Hearts, the team went 6–5 in the round robin and missed the playoffs. Also in 1986, Robertson won the provincial mixed championship playing lead for Hal Tanasichuk. The Scotties Tournament of Hearts (''french: Le Tournoi des Cœurs Scotties''; commonly referred to as the Scotties) is the annual Canadian women's curling championship, sanctioned by Curling Canada, formerly called the Canadian Curling Association. The winner goes on to represent Canada at the women's world curling championships. Since 1985, the winner also gets to return to the following year's tournament as "Team Canada". Barbara Spencer (born Barbara Jay Kirkness, February 14, 1966) is a Canadian curler from Sanford, Manitoba. Spencer is a former Canadian Junior champion and a three-time provincial champion. Career Spencer had a successful junior career, playing third for her sister, Darcy's team. The team won the 1984 Canadian Junior Curling Championships for Manitoba. Deer Lodge Curling Club
The Deer Lodge Curling Club located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a six-sheet curling club located in the west part of the city. The club was established in 1919 and moved to the current location in the 1950s. In 2023, the Thistle Curling Club announced that they would be selling their location and merging their club with Deer Lodge Curling Club. The two clubs would retain their history and identity but continue to operate out of the same facility beginning in the fall of 2023. Sherry ( es, jerez ) is a fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown near the city of Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, Spain.
