1986 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 1986 SEC men's basketball tournament took place from March 5–8, 1986 at Rupp Arena in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, home to the University of Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team. Kentucky won the SEC tournament championship title and the SEC's automatic bid to the 1986 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball tournament by defeating Alabama 83–72. Coverage of the first round, the quarterfinals and semifinals was produced and regionally syndicated by the Lorimar Sports Network, the sports broadcasting arm of Lorimar-Telepictures. The semifinals of this tournament marks the LSN's final broadcast before going defunct; Jefferson-Pilot Teleproductions would win syndication rights to SEC Basketball before the following season. Rupp Arena
Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center is an arena located in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Since its opening in 1976, it has been the centerpiece of Central Bank Center (formerly Lexington Center), a convention and shopping facility owned by an arm of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, which is located next to the Lexington Hyatt and Hilton hotels. The Auburn Tigers men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Auburn University. Ole Miss Rebels Basketball
The Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team represents the University of Mississippi in the sport of basketball. The Rebels compete in the NCAA Division I and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They started the 2015–16 season playing home games at Tad Smith Coliseum on the university's Oxford campus, but played their final game in that facility on December 22, 2015. The Tennessee Volunteers Men's Basketball Team is the collegiate men's basketball program for the University of Tennessee–Knoxville.
