List Of The Goon Show Episodes
The following is a List of ''The Goon Show'' episodes. ''The Goon Show'' was a popular and influential British radio comedy series, originally produced by the BBC from 1951 to 1960 and broadcast on the BBC Home Service. Availability of ''The Goon Show'' episodes Lost episodes Many of the earliest radio episodes no longer exist. When the first episodes were broadcast, recording technology was still expensive and primitive by later standards. Audio tape was not in general use, and any recordings were made directly on to acetate discs. These could be played back, but tended to wear out quickly and did not survive unless further processed to create a master disc, which was only done for recordings intended for sale. Only one episode from the fourth series was preserved in the BBC Sound Archive (as a tape dub from an acetate disc). Other episodes from Series 2–4 have survived, sometimes in incomplete form, as off-air recordings of varying quality. Four episodes from Series 4 wer ...

Nineteen Hundred And Eighty-Five
"Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five" (sometimes written as "1985") is a song by the British–American rock band Paul McCartney and Wings, released as the final track on their 1973 album ''Band on the Run''. It has been featured on the 2001 documentary DVD ''Wingspan'' and Paul McCartney and Wings' 1974 TV special ''One Hand Clapping''. A 2016 remix of the song was nominated for a Grammy Award. The song was referenced in Brett Easton Ellis’s novel ''Glamorama,'' driving a group of fictional supermodels to extreme terrorist acts. Lyrics and music Paul McCartney has said that the song originated with just the first line. The tune is the climactic track from the album ''Band on the Run''. It continues the album's theme of escape by describing the singer achieving artistic freedom through love. Author Andrew Grant Jackson calls the lyrics "gibberish" and mere placeholders for the excitement and "cinematic purpose" of the music." The song has a grandiose ending with a full orchest ...

Teleporter (album)
''Teleporter'' is a compilation album by Australian band Pseudo Echo, featuring four new tracks, five remixed tracks, and live performances. Background Pseudo Echo was established in Melbourne in 1982, released 3 studio album and disbanded in November 1989. A ‘best of’ was released in 1995, titled '' Best Adventures''. The band reformed and toured in 1998, leading the release of ''Teleporter''. Review Michael Sutton of All Music reviewed the album, saying "On disc one, Pseudo Echo shows that they can still drink from new romantic waters, diving into early-'80s nostalgia on newer tracks like "Hope I Go to Heaven" and "1985." Although some rave touches creep in, vocalist Brian Canham still knows how to carve sharp hooks." On the live performances on disc two, Sutton says "the band doesn't stray from their formula -- high-styled Euro-disco with deep, heavily accented vocals, beeping synthesizers, and dark riffs." adding "they are beautifully dated artifacts from an exciting t ...

Lifeblood (album)
''Lifeblood'' is the seventh studio album by Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers. Recorded in 2003, it was released on 1 November 2004 by record label Sony Music UK. The album was met with generally positive reviews from critics, yielding two singles, "The Love of Richard Nixon" and " Empty Souls". The album peaked at number 13 in the UK Album Chart. Writing and recording The working title of ''Lifeblood'' was ''Litany'', hinting that the song "Litany" recorded during the ''Lifeblood'' sessions was originally intended for inclusion. The track, however, only featured as a B-side to the " Empty Souls" CD single. The album includes a song about Emily Pankhurst ("Emily"), a leader in the British woman's suffrage movement, but, otherwise, the band's earlier political lyrics have been replaced by personal reflection, such as on the band's past ("1985") and former member Richey Edwards ("Cardiff Afterlife"). ''Lifeblood'' was recorded at studios in New York, Wales a ...
