The 1984–85 season was the 39th season in Rijeka’s history and their 23rd season in the Yugoslav First League. Their 4th place finish in the 1983–84 season meant it was their 11th successive season playing in the Yugoslav First League. Hrvatski nogometni klub Rijeka ( en, Croatian Football Club Rijeka), commonly referred to as NK Rijeka or simply Rijeka, is a Croatian professional association football, football club from the city of Rijeka. HNK Rijeka compete in Croatia's top division, Croatian First Football League, HT Prva liga, of which they have been members since its foundation in 1992. Danko Matrljan (born March 4, 1960 in Rijeka) is a former Croatian football striker who played for Croatian HNK Rijeka, NK Pomorac Kostrena, Orijent Rijeka, French club US Orléans and Spanish CD Logroñés. He is currently working as an assistant manager for the Croatian top division club HNK Rijeka. UEFA Europa League Danko Matrljan scored a goal for Rijeka against Real Madrid in the 1984–85 UEFA Cup on 24 October 1984. Boris Tičić
Boris Tičić (born 22 May 1957) is a Croatian football defender and later manager. Playing career Tičić played for HNK Orijent, Orijent before joining local rivals HNK Rijeka, Rijeka. He played for them in the famous home win over Real Madrid in the 1984–85 UEFA Cup as well as in the controversial away leg defeat. Managerial career He replaced Nino Kos as manager of NK Rudar Labin, Rudar Labin in April 2009, after he was in charge of NK Pomorac 1921, Pomorac Kostrena in the first part of that season. Karađorđe Stadium
Karađorđe Stadium ( sr, Стадион Карађорђе, Stadion Karađorđe) is a multi-purpose stadium in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Vojvodina. The stadium is one of the most modern stadiums in Serbia and has one of the best pitches in the country. The stadium has a total of 14,853 seats after new renovations were made in 2013. The stadium is also the home ground for the Serbian U-21 football team. Nenad Gračan
Nenad Gračan (born 23 January 1962) is a Croatian football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. He is the coach of the Croatia women's national football team. Club career Born in Rijeka, SFR Yugoslavia, Gračan started playing professionally for hometown's NK Orijent and, soon thereafter, HNK Rijeka, amassing nearly 150 official appearances. He then moved to another club in his native Croatia, HNK Hajduk Split. During his first match at Hajduk Gračan was injured while playing against his former club by Mladen Mladenović who nearly broke Gračan's leg. Because of this injury he appeared intermittently for Hajduk over the course of four full seasons. Late into 1989, Gračan signed with La Liga club Real Oviedo. Damir Desnica (born 20 December 1956) is a Croatian retired footballer who played as a forward. Club career Born in Obrovac, Croatia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Desnica spent much of his career with HNK Rijeka, appearing in nearly 300 official games and winning two Yugoslav Cups in the process. In 1985, aged nearly 29, he moved abroad and signed for Belgium's K.V. Kortrijk. Desnica returned to his country after five years, and joined NK Zadar. NK Iskra, commonly known as Iskra Bugojno or just Iskra (meaning "spark" in Bosnian) is a professional association football club from the town of Bugojno that is situated in central Bosnia and Herzegovina.
