1983–84 Santosh Trophy
The 1983–84 Santosh Trophy was the 40th edition of the Santosh Trophy, the main State competition for football in India. It was held in April 1984 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu. Goa beat Punjab 1–0 in the final to win the competition for their second time, and first as only-holders, after they held the trophy along with West Bengal in the previous edition. Arnold Rodrigues and Camilo Gonsalves (both Goa) were named the best forward and best player of the tournament respectively. The Karnataka football team ( kn, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕಾಲ್ಚೆಂಡು ತಂಡ, Karnaṭaka kaalchenḍu tanḍa) is an Indian football team representing Karnataka in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. Pem Dorji
Pem Dorji was a celebrated Indian professional football defender from the state of Sikkim, who represented the India national football team in international tournaments including the 1984 Asian Cup in Singapore. He also played for Mohammedan Sporting. Sudip Chatterjee (footballer)
Sudip Chatterjee (15 December 1959 – 18 September 2006), nicknamed ''Tulu'', was an Indian international football player and coach. He started his career as a centre back and then moved to the right back position before switching to the midfielder role. As a Midfielder, he was considered among the finest in Indian football. Playing career Sudip started his playing career with Howrah Sahajatri Club, where his skills were spotted by former India international Arun Ghosh. In 1981, he signed for Calcutta 1st Division league team Bengal Nagpur Railway (BNR) Club. After spending a season with BNR, he joined Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan in 1982.
