PGA Tour
The PGA Tour (stylized in all capital letters as PGA TOUR by its officials) is the organizer of professional golf tours in the United States and North America. It organizes most of the events on the flagship annual series of tournaments also known as the PGA Tour, as well as PGA Tour Champions (age 50 and older) and the Korn Ferry Tour (for professional players who have not yet qualified to play on the PGA Tour), as well as PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and PGA Tour China. Kenny Knox
Edward Kenneth Knox (born August 15, 1956) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, and the Champions Tour. Knox was born in Columbus, Georgia. He and his brother were introduced to the game of golf by their mother. He attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida where he earned All-American honors as a member of the golf team. He graduated in 1978, turned professional that year, and joined the PGA Tour in 1982. Knox won three events during his career on the PGA Tour. His first win came at the 1986 Honda Classic. He was the first Monday qualifier to win on the PGA Tour and is the only player to win with a round of 80. His second win occurred a year later at the Hardee's Golf Classic and his third came in 1990 at the Buick Southern Open. Mike Cunning
Michael Cunning (born July 30, 1958) is an American professional golfer. Early life Cunning was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He played collegiately at the University of Arizona. Professional career In 1980, Cunning turned professional. He played on the PGA Tour in 1984, making only one cut in 16 events. He played again on the Tour in 1992 after finishing T13 at the 1991 Q-school. In 1992, he made 11 cuts in 30 events with one top 10 finish and lost his tour card by finishing 165th on the money list. He played on the Nike Tour in 1993, makin 14 cuts in 23 events with two top 10 finishes. He has played only sparingly in the U.S. since then. Cunning has played in Asia since 1981, and has been a regular on the Asian Tour since it began in its modern form in 1995. Mark Calcavecchia
Mark John Calcavecchia (born June 12, 1960) is an American professional golfer and a former PGA Tour member. During his professional career, he won 13 PGA Tour events, including the 1989 Open Championship. He plays on the Champions Tour as well as a limited PGA Tour schedule that includes The Open Championship. Early years Calcavecchia was born in Laurel, Nebraska. While he was a teenager, his family moved from Nebraska to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1973. Lyn Lott
Clinton Lynwood Lott III (April 9, 1950 – March 22, 2018) was an American professional golfer. Lott was born in Douglas, Georgia. He won several amateur golf tournaments in Georgia including the Georgia State Junior Amateur, Georgia State Amateur, and Georgia Open, as a 17-year-old amateur. He played college golf at the University of Georgia where he was a two-time All-American. During his time at UGA, the team won four consecutive Southeastern Conference titles and Lott won two individual events. Lott played on the PGA Tour from 1974 to 1984. His best finishes were three third-place finishes: 3rd at the 1976 Canadian Open, T-3 at the 1977 Byron Nelson Golf Classic, and T-3 at the 1981 Greater Milwaukee Open. Bill Glasson (golfer)
William Lee Glasson, Jr. (born April 29, 1960) is an American professional golfer who won several tournaments on the PGA Tour. Glasson was born in Fresno, California. He attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was a member of the golf team – a two-time All-American. He turned pro in 1983 and led the PGA Tour for driving distance in 1984. Glasson has enjoyed nine victories as a professional golfer: seven official PGA Tour events and two non-official events. His first win came at the 1985 Kemper Open. Trailing seven strokes behind the leader Larry Mize with 14 holes to play, Glasson made a 45-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole for a round of 66 to finish one stroke ahead of Mize and Corey Pavin. Rick Dalpos
Rick Dalpos (born April 25, 1957) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Dalpos joined the PGA Tour in 1983 and played on Tour until 1989 with little success. His best finish during those years was when he finished in a tie for tenth in the 1987 Los Angeles Open. He joined the Nationwide Tour in 1990 and enjoyed more success, recording four top-10 finishes. In 1991, he picked up his first win on Tour at the Ben Hogan Greater Ozarks Open. He picked up his second win the following year at the Ben Hogan Pensacola Open. That win helped him finish 8th on the money list which earned him his PGA Tour card for 1993. Paul Azinger
Paul William Azinger (born January 6, 1960) is an American professional golfer and TV golf He won twelve times on the PGA Tour, including one major championship, the 1993 PGA Championship. He spent almost 300 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking between 1988 and 1994. Early years Azinger was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts; his father Ralph (1930–2013) was a navigator in the U.S. Air Force and later a businessman. He started in golf at age five. Mark Wiebe
Mark Charles Wiebe (born September 13, 1957) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He also played on the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour. Early life Wiebe was born in Seaside, Oregon and grew up in Escondido, California. He attended Escondido High School from 1972–75, then Palomar College from 1976–77, then San Jose State University from 1978–79, and was a member of the golf team at both institutions. Atlanta Classic
The Atlanta Classic was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour, a regular stop in suburban Atlanta for over four decades. It was founded in 1967, although previous events dating to 1934 are included in the PGA Tour's past winners list. AT&T was the last title sponsor of the tournament. From 1967 to 1996, it was played at the Atlanta Country Club in Marietta, northwest of Atlanta. From 1997 to 2008, it was played over the Stables and Meadows nines at TPC at Sugarloaf in Duluth, northeast of Atlanta. For most of its years, the Atlanta tournament was usually held in May. From 1999– 2006, it was moved to early April, the week before the Masters. Its final two editions were in mid-May, a week after the Players Championship (which was moved from late March). Tommy Valentine
Thomas Ervin Valentine (October 21, 1949 – July 12, 2014) was an American professional golfer. College Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Valentine was a four-year letterman in golf for the University of Georgia team from 1968 to 1971, winning the Southeastern Conference (SEC) individual title in 1970, and helping Georgia win the SEC championship in 1969, 1970, and 1971. He was first team NCAA All-American in 1970. Professional career Valentine competed on the PGA Tour from 1977 until 1988, earning over $300,000 during his career, which included 14 top-10 finishes.
