1983 Formula Atlantic Season
The 1983 Champ Car Atlantic Championship, Formula Mondial North American Cup season was contested over 9 rounds. In this one-make engine formula all cars had to use Cosworth, Ford BDD engines. 57 different drivers competed in 8 different chassis. Calendar Final points standings Driver For every race the points were awarded: 30 points to the winner, 24 for runner-up, 19 for third place, 15 for fourth place, 12 for fifth place, 10 for sixth place, 9 seventh place, winding down to 1 point for 15th place. Atlantic Championship
The Atlantic Championship is a formula race car series with races throughout North America. It has been called Champ Car Atlantics (after its former name), Toyota Atlantics (due to the series' previous history of using Toyota-powered engines), or just Atlantics or Formula Atlantic, although the latter two terms risk confusion with the Sports Car Club of America's amateur Formula Atlantics division. Starting in 2012, the series was revived with SCCA Pro Racing sanction by Formula Race Promotions, with the series last raced in 2009 under IMSA sanction. FRP switched to USAC sanctioning in 2017. However, in 2019 FRP regained control of the series with backing from SCCA Pro Racing. Circuit Trois-Rivières
The Circuit Trois-Rivières is a street circuit in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada. The circuit has been the home of the annual Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, the longest-running street race in North America, since 1967. The circuit is located on the Terrain de l'Exposition (fairgrounds) and is unusual in that it passes through ''Porte Duplessis'', the narrow concrete gateway of the grounds at turn 3. Throughout its history the circuit has hosted numerous major North American racing series including the American Le Mans Series, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, the Trans-Am Series, Can-Am, Indy Lights and Formula Atlantic. Tiga Race Cars
Tiga Race Cars Ltd. was a British auto racing constructor and team. The company was founded in 1974 by two former Formula 1 drivers, Australian Tim Schenken and New Zealander Howden Ganley. The company's name was formed by the first two letters of Tim and Ganley. Tiga constructed racing cars for various forms of open wheel racing and sports car racing, ranging from Formula Ford to the World Sportscar Championship. Over 400 chassis were sold by Tiga before the company folded in 1989. Drivers of Tiga-built cars won numerous championships and events, including three European, four British and one American Sports 2000 championships and two Australian Drivers' Championships, as well as class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. Dan Marvin is a former United States, American racing driver. Marvin primarily competed in Atlantic Championship, CASC North American Atlantic Championship competition from 1981 to 1983 and then won the WCAR Formula Atlantic title in 1984. He also drove in the SCCA Single-seater Can-Am Series and later drove in IMSA Camel Lights, winning several class victories in 1992 (including the 24 Hours of Daytona where they were fifth overall) with teammate Parker Johnstone and finishing third in 1993 for Comptech, Comptech Racing. Theodore Racing ( zh, t=徳利賽車隊香港) was a Formula One constructor from Hong Kong founded by real estate magnate and millionaire Teddy Yip. They participated in 51 grands prix, entering a total of 64 cars. In the present day Theodore Racing is an international motor racing team owned by Teddy Yip Jr. competing in the Macau Grand Prix. Ralt was a manufacturer of single-seater racing cars, founded by ex-Jack Brabham associate Ron Tauranac after he sold out his interest in Brabham to Bernie Ecclestone. Ron and his brother had built some specials in Australia in the 1950s under the Ralt name (standing for Ron and Austin Lewis Tauranac).
